Pere Ubu is a mega weird post-punk band. Their music tends to be unbelievably "nervy" and awkward to the point of often being annoying. I don't actually like them very much.

David Thomas' vocals are not for everyone but if you happen to like them upon the first listen you'll be hooked. Their first 3 LPs are where it's at and if you can find their first EPs you'll be set.

I love Thomas' vocals; they're a big strongpoint for Pere Ubu in my eyes. [I]The Modern Dance[/I] > all.

Of course we know Primal Scream, they're the ultimate retirement home for rock stars who've exhausted their potential in other bands.
