they're all right, very overrated though

idk i had never even heard of them until yesterday so their overration missed me somehow

i was obv being melodramatic about them instantly becoming my favorite but i really like the album (was the 3rd one). had all of my favorite elements of the genre, and just an overall sound that i really enjoyed.

i couldn't get into it

yeah the third one's probably their better record

i reviewed their second some time ago. they're a good band but have somehow become the 'big thing' in funeral doom and i don't see what all the fuss is about.

Zoroaster was really good live when I saw them. They all had weedeater shirts lol.

idk bros obv thergothon is and will always be king but i'm really digging the shit out of ea can't stop listening to them. i can see why some people wouldn't think they're that great but it's just that their atmosphere is perfectly suited for me, it's just exactly what i like. the choral stuff, the pads they use, the melodic leads, still heavy, deep ass growls, the imagery, it's pretty much everything i love about funeral doom.

have you listened to any skepticism? and im sure you've listened to worship considering how much i've jocked them over the years

i can't decide how i feel about skepticism. granted i've only heard alloy. but sometimes i listen to it and really dig it, and other times i listen and i'm like this really isn't doing much for me.

i'd say give some other albums a listen. my favourite is farmakon, i think it's more effective than alloy. and if you'er a fan of thergothon, you'd appreciate skepticism's debut, stormcrowfleet

i recall listening to stormcrowfleet wayyyyyyy back when like 4 or 5 years ago when i first got into thergothon. don't remember anything about it though, i'll definitely give it a listen this weekend.

can someone recommend me some satanic doom metal? maybe some old stuff and new stuff? i dont listen to much doom at all, but i do really like electric wizard and black sabbath.

Have you listened to Church of Misery? They have some songs covering satanism but it's usually all about serial killers. They mix satan in there some though.

i'd say candlemass are far better known than those other three combined

go with nightfall over epicus doomicus when starting with candlemass

go with both tbh, they are both equally good

Yeah Church of Misery is more fun sounding but its still retro stoner doom like EW. EW really isnt that evil sounding to me with the newer stuff, retro just loses the evil factor with me.
