Have you heard Evolution Purgatory? I think it's far, far better than the other two albums.
|
Yep. Didn't care for it :p
To be fair, though, it's not that I disliked it/thought it was bad. Just not something I'd go back to, which is the case for a vast majority of power metal for me. Galloglass I still love, though. |
yeah, power metal is a genre where something has to be exceptional for me to care now. I can enjoy generic death metal and such, but for power metal, it needs to be something amazing.
|
do you use msn?
|
nope, I live in Amerikkka.
|
what's MSN? lol, I think that's been out of the loop here in the US for like 5 years.
And I can actually listen to generic power metal and enjoy it. That's probably because I've already heard and fell in love with the best band in the entire genre. |
is that Dragonforce Poet? lol
|
lol totally. They were the first power metal band I listened to though.
|
anyone listen to Persuader?
they're like Blind Guardian with bigger balls
If I wasn't currently digging stoner metal, I'd give it a go now. :< It'll have to wait some weeks. |
Persuader's alright.
|
They may have a terrible name, but I'm enjoying Fairyland's new album.
|
same here. is their earlier albums as good?
|
I downloaded The Sceptre Of Deception by Falconer last night after remembering how awesome The Coronation is. The rest of the album isn't too bad either though can anyone recommend which one to have a listen to next or share some thoughts on The Sceptre Of Deception?
|
I don't think Falconer is anything special. And Jeff, I downloaded Of War of Osyrhia earlier today, and the couple of songs I heard were good.
|
sceptre of deception is excellent, the coronation is probably my favorite power metal track ever. if you werent too keen on that album, check out chapters from a vale forlorn next. it has a different singer, mathias blad, that most people seem to prefer. i like gobel more personally.

My favorite Falconer is Chapters From A Vale Forlorn. Northwind and Among Beggars are also good. |

Yeah, I heard 40:1.
Epic chorus! |
Sabaton Has to be the most epic sounding band ever IMO ...

It's a hell of a lot better than Attero pooptyalbum.
I need to give The Art of War a more critical listen now, but for me it seemed almost identical to Attero in enjoyment. Which is to say, not nearly that of Primo. |
Starting to come back to powermetal a bit more. Always happens this time of the year.
Digging Helloween's Gambling With The Devil a lot. |
Yeah, I heard 40:1.
Epic chorus!
The Ghost Division chorus gives it a run for its money. |

Digging Helloween's Gambling With The Devil a lot.
A lot of people love that album, but for some reason I've never really got into it. I don't know, some aspects annoy me... like the drumming and the riffage... it just get into my nerves. |
Wait, you're talking about annoying things about that album and you don't mention Deris?!?!?
With any other singer, I would really love that album. As it is, I just like it a lot. |

'please let me knowwwww, everythings alright, thinking about you though your out of sight! every night, when i'm turning in my tears find me, please hurry dear come back and rescue me!' |
