Ah, yes. Spalted maple is nice, but it takes a particular top for me.

I'm not overly fond on burls of any sort. They just don't look good to me. The only one I've ever seen that I liked had a blue burst stain on it, so it was a lot easier on the eyes.

Nah, there's a reason Cocobolo is extinct expensive. Because it is the best and it's so damn nice.

What are the rest of the specs on this bass?

Redwood burl is sexy.

Buckeye is just really cool in my mind.
Honestly, appearance of a bass isn't that important to me. I mean I hardly notice what it looks like when I'm playing.

Anybody ever heard of the band Downface? It almost sounds like MJK (Tool) and Gavin Rossdale (Bush) are the vocals.

Especially in the song "Lies."

Singlecut design (tough luck, Spiffy-poo :p)
2 single coil Aero pickups
Unsure if I wanna go passive or active electronics yet
Hardware colour will depend on woods
I want to go neck-thru, but it might tip me over my price range
Swamp ashbody
Flamed maple/purpleheart neck

Appearance is very much important to me. If I'm having it custom made, I want every last little detail to appease me.

I would agree that if I spent that much, I would want my dream bass, but I don't know if appearance is worth the extra money for me personally. I mean When I play it's weird, I just don't even notice the appearance of the bass.

So you're going to pay extra for cocobolo, but you are worrying about a price range? Why not just get the neck through and have the thing kick even more ***?
