I love the s/t but I started out with Blast Tyrant and then Robot Hive came out soon after. I'm not sure if I would love them as much if I just started listening to them now though.
gettin destroyed by amplifier worship rite now
yah love me some Boris. i still need to hear their collaboration stuff like Rainbow and Altar tho
their collab's are excellent, specially altar
yeah Altar is great. I think The Sinking Belle is one of my top 3 favorite songs of all time. Once I listened to it with a bunch of friends when we were high and everybody was blown away, speechless through the whole song except for some "wow" "omg" "holy shit"s
haha, when i got black one on vinyl i played that with my friends high and it was pretty much the same
My friends would be freaking out if I played them Black One while high. Only one or two of my close friends enjoys evil shit when high lol.
Oh yeh, sorry, forgot to mention Boris. I have 'a lot' of their stuff (Sunn, I mean), and I have seen them live twice. The last show I saw (think it was in february) was a k-i-l-l-e-r. They really know how to build up an experience. I even saw Trentemøller, that danish electronic DJ/musician if you know him, there. He looked like it was nothing he had ever seen before :)
If you people are interested in some evil ambient, and I mean evil, try listen to Lustmord "Black Star". I think he just sampled Hell and released it. Edit: Since I just discovered there is a thread for ambient; is there a seperate thread for drone and sludge metal or what? I don't come here too often, so stuff like that just goes by over my head. |
There is a sludge and drone thread too
I kinda think we could merge sludge/doom/stoner/drone all into one thread but idk. |
Damn, my band was one messed-up arm away from playing with Ocean =( On top of that our show with Minsk got canceled. Bummers abound.

Oh, my bad. Gonna check them out then.

uberdoom. so doom its barely there. but yea i love black one and oracle especially
I never got much into Clutch (lol, rhyme)
yea their vocals especially ruin it for me... they have some good parts and songs here and there but still lame |
ya black one rules
Idk how you can't like Niel Fallon's voice.
Yeah Black One is awesome and all their live albums. New Cough track up http://www.myspace.com/cough666 |
Electric Wizard announced the new album will be called "Black Masses" and it should be out around Halloween.
That's great. It will probably kill most albums this year.
pretty excited for that
i have the end riff of return trip by Electric Wizard stuck in my head. dunno why.
I have most of the riffs from that song stuck in my head most of the time. GREAT track. |

I don't really like their newest too much, but Draining the Waterheart is absolutely great. One of the few metal albums I still listen to. |
Great, you too. Everybody is out of metal now.
new Zoroaster is ricockilously good.
Yeah it's fucking awesome.
Same with the new Bongripper. |
Everybody is out of metal now.
Not me! Yeah Pallbearer are great. I'm also enjoying Cauchemar quite a lot as well (http://www.myspace.com/cauchemarmetal) Age of Taurus show some real promise as well (http://www.myspace.com/ageoftaurus) |
Can't wait for new Atlantean Kodex, Altar of Oblivion, and Procession.
There's a Solstice live tape about to be released soon as well which should be well worth getting.
And a bit of shameless plugging: Dark Forest, The River (instrumental set) and The Human Condition will play at the Star and Garter, Manchester, UK on the 17th of October. £6 entry. DARK FOREST (http://www.myspace.com/darkforestrealm) Exciting, rousing, heartfelt heavy metal from the West Midland's finest. Reaping the rewards of an intensive gigging schedule, Dark Forest are ready to unleash a metal onslaught on Manchester. THE RIVER (http://www.myspace.com/doomriver) After an extended hiatus after losing their vocalist, The River have regrouped with a stripped down instrumental set showcasing bass-heavy soundscapes of a new beginning... a beginning of a doom odyssey. THE HUMAN CONDITION (http://www.myspace.com/thehumanconditiondoomuk) It has taken 5 years for The Human Condition to play their first gig and you can be damn sure they are going to take the opportunity to make it count. Intense, progressive doom metal. The Star and Garter, 18-20 Fairfield Street, Manchester M1 2QF 0161 273 6726 http://www.starandgarter.co.uk/star4/ |
UK guys should go to this show. Dark Forest is great. And I'm sure The Human Condition will be worth seeing.
