I think I'll get a greatest hits and either At Folsom Prison or At San Quentin.
Folsom was where I started and it worked so well for me. There's something really magical about his prison performances. I also bought San Quentin for $7 from JB Hi Fi a while ago, which was a pretty sweet deal.
Now I'm listening to Moondog (the Prestige release) by Moondog. This is pretty weird stuff, but it's very enjoyable. Serene and bubbly and acoustic.
When I saw Antony and the Johnsons they did a Moondog cover. It was really eerie and involved Antony singing a single line for about 5 or 6 minutes. It was really fantastic. Would the record you have be a good starting point?

I Was A Kaleidoscope 02-06-2006 03:17 AM

Adelaide bands; Wolf and Cub, Fire! Santa Rosa, Fire!, Clue To Kalo and The Adult Bookstore.

And 245 Radiohead songs I got.

br3ad_man 02-06-2006 03:29 AM

The Smiths, for probably the first time ever.

Zebra 02-06-2006 07:50 AM

Ween - The Mollusk, Pure Guava, Chocolate and Cheese

Such an amazing brother/brother duo.

SparBZ 02-06-2006 07:59 AM

Baumer - How the West 1

I support local Jersey Music! w00t!

morrissey 02-06-2006 10:06 AM

The Dears

Murray has such a compelling voice.

sketchyjoe 02-06-2006 10:22 AM

The Velvet Underground & Nico

It's a fantastic album but it would be better off without Nico.

ATM 02-06-2006 01:38 PM

Patrick Wolf is neat.

Was it the new, remastered one (The Complete 1969 Concert, or something)? Because that would be sweet.

insanepunkguy 02-06-2006 02:34 PM

test icicles
louis VIX
franz ferdinand 1 (forgotten how absolutely brilliant it is)

Bukowski 02-06-2006 02:44 PM

Ornette Coleman - Shape of Jazz to Come
This Bike is a Pipe Bomb - Front Seat Solidarity

Both great albums in their own right.

Nah, just the "normal" version.

But they're not really brothers ;)

By the way, I like that live video of them playing "Hot For Teacher" that Zmev posted. That drummer's got a great voice, but I couldn't tell who the two Weens were. Were they the singer and bassist?

Belle & Sebastian - The Life Pursuit

I like it so far, definitely moreso than DCW.

Bukowski 02-06-2006 05:22 PM

lolz oops

I'm getting Ghost Mice's new album on soulseek just now, and apparently it's better than their old stuff so that should kick ***. I'm really looking forward to listening to it.

pixiesfanyo 02-06-2006 05:46 PM

Xiu Xiu - Fabulous Muscles

Zappa 02-06-2006 05:57 PM

Mouse on Mars - Niun Niggung

Really cool modern German electronica. The first electronic album I've gotten into in a while.

Tangy zizzle 02-06-2006 06:03 PM

Good, Mouse on Mars don't get enough love. If you dig them Zaphoid you should try Ratatat, they're similar.

I've been diggin' lots of Deerhoof, and also Eels.

Shall do. The Mouse on Mars stuff was just randomly sent to me by a guy I sort of know from my area. Weird relationship, really.

The Drones are currently in my ear canal, and will probably stay there for awhile.

Tangy zizzle 02-06-2006 09:06 PM

Love - Forever Changes

I was expected to be half blown away by this album, but it was just okay for me. meh.

Tomahawk 02-07-2006 12:08 AM

Yeah, it sucks.

I'm in a Rolling Stones frame of mind today.

br3ad_man 02-07-2006 12:54 AM

I listened to The Smiths, Pelican, GY!BE and The Cure at school today. My friend introduced me to a band called French Teenage Idols or something like that. They were pretty decent, so I'm going to investigate them further.

Now I'm listening to BTBAM and before that I was listening to the new Mogwai single, which is great.
