Those are both great albums.

I wonder why Doolittle seems to get more attention than Surfer Rosa. Surfer Rosa always seemed like the better album to me.

Because people have different opinions.

Obviously. But why is Doolittle widely considered the greater of the two? No reason to answer like a smartass, I'm actually curious.

They owe Albini alot of credit though because he basically created that "Original Pixies Sound". With their later albums you can actually hear what they really sounded like, they were a far more lush sounding band which wasn't captured on [I]Surfer Rosa[/I].

Not at all, listen to the compositions of their other albums and listen to their live performances. They were never a stripped down band in the first place.
