Rumor has it that they may have discovered the Higgs Boson at Fermilab.
We'll see how this pans out. |
I read some pretty speculative rumours too, nothing concrete seems to have eventuated.
Seems to have been some excitement across the street, heard some banging/screaming/shouting kinda going on and seems to have subsided. It's just on 4 in the morning here so a bit unusual. I did a perimeter check with the old baseball bat and everything seems to be in order. Out of character for the street though, it's a windy night though, that's probably it. what's that the wind |
I live in a unit now, no trouble of anyone breaking in, I enjoy it.

Deaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad.

Damnit. In-state tuition for ASU went up to $557 per credit hour. One 3-credit class + fees = $1781, and I still have to buy the book on top of that.
Looks like I'll be getting a second job next summer. I hate America, where education is a business. |
Education is expensive here too depending on where you go, but yeah, I feel you even more for that reason.
|
A $100 /cr tuition increase from the spring semester is just outrageous though.
I suspect it's because the head honcho of ASU wants one of these: http://www.caranddriver.com/news/car/09q3/2011_bentley_mulsanne-official_photos_and_info |
Man, isn't it treason for an American to drive a Bentley?
Man, isn't it treason for an American to drive a Bentley?
Hell no. True Americans are all about luxury imports and outsourcing. That's why all of the American companies are tanking. |
America does seem to be going down the drain a bit.
Maybe in a thousand years America will just be South Canada, or New Korea. Personally I'd rather see South Canada. Nobody is rooting for North Mexico. |
I always got a sense that Americans don't like things that aren't made in America, on the whole? ;p

Because American products are expensive, lack innovation, and all customer support is direct to India anyway. There are some companies, like Hipshot, that I will stand by for their amazing work and customer service. |
North Mexico as you know it will eventually be known as Canada B2.
Man, wishing Fallout New Vegas would come out sooner. |

i feel like an animal its 99 degrees outside
I live in Phoenix. It's a measly 111 degrees F outside (for Americans) Conversions: 43.89 degrees C (for everyone else) 317 K (for the science geeks) 570.7 R (for 6 or 7 engineering people on the planet who actually use it) |
seriously man, at work i couldn't stop thinking about big sweaty tits
is 111 heat even bareable? hottest its ever been in the south bay is like 107 that was some oppressive ****. |

for the most part on really hot days around here humidity is pretty low right now it's 91 with 31% humidity.

That's because you're in nuu zeeland. Where I'm living people around me rug up when it goes below 20. I'm so glad I was born in the south. It virtually doesn't get cold here, the coldest it's been in the dead of night lately very rarely gets down near 5. Hottest days here are only mid-high 30's but it's so ****ing humid it's ridiculous. That's why no one wears clothes here and the skin cancer rate is higher than anywhere else. And people who're 30 look about 60 with leather for skin. |
20C is too hot for me :(

Lol 20C is the temp we put the heat pump in our room on. Temperature is so god damn relative. When's your album dropping Fatty? |

Thanks for checking out my old band's EP Joel :).
|
No problem mate, it was a fun listen man!
|
Next time I post some of my playing it'll be tastier bass recordings for sure.
PS, please spam all your friends with it :p. There's never going to be any more of it so I'd just like it to go to good homes. |

We never have more than 10% humidity unless it's monsoon season. Like, never. |
Ain't been much humid around these parts lately, chilly season.

What are people up to? I'm having fun transcribing an old Jackson 5 bassline.
|
Gig coming up. Hello nerves.
What are people up to? I'm having fun transcribing an old Jackson 5 bassline.
Last night, a guitarist I'm gigging with on Saturday asked me to come up with a really dirty sound (or as he described it: dirty, like a smelly pirate cooter). I ended up using my BBM Pi to split the signal. I used a dirty OD signal for the low end, and sent the clean signal through an octaver with some Digitech guitar distortion pedal after it, and combined it all back together for my amp. It's a disgustingly dirty sound with two octave and two different distortions. It's rather gag-inducing and almost synth-y in nature, but I suspect that's the octave's fault. I might try a different distortion & EQ setting for the octave to make it blend a little better. |

September 13th D: |
Man you are like a chef cooking up distortions.
What kind of music is this album fatbandit? Grab a free copy of my old band's EP if you feel like it, thread is in the bass forum. |
Man you are like a chef cooking up distortions.
Gotta do it, man. Different situations require different types of distortion. In this case, I'm combining two of the situations (clean, low notes & synthy, high notes). The octave helps to fill up the sound (the band only has one guitarist, who writes very simple lines and does vocals). |
Half a bassist's job is doing other people's jobs.
"Want You Back" by Jackson 5 has a tight as bassline, Wilton Felder giving it the Motown sauce. |
