ATM told me that his girlfriend was pretty much a pothead (as in, a pothead, not someone who smokes pot--everyone in college smokes pot).

My lady digs the ganja too. She plays an instrument too (bass...yeah it's the stereotypical chick instrument but she's pretty good, actually)

Jom 06-12-2005 05:44 PM

I just got a call from someone to go to Palace Vision (the Pistons play at The Palace of Auburn Hills, for those who couldn't care less about sports).

Basically, for free parking and five dollars a ticket, you go to the Palace and watch the game on the Titantron.

I declined, because I'd just rather stay home. The person who called me... we have a long history. It wouldn't have been fun. Plus, surgery drugs + doubleheader in 90 degree, 100% humidity heat are taking a toll on me.

Okay, so the last one is an excuse. But yeah, I think it would have been bad news.

Would you go to something like this? I mean, the atmosphere would probably be nice. I probably would have gone if someone else would have called me, though.

It's just, I don't understand the appeal of going to an arena to watch the game on a Titantron, especially with an "acquaintance." What's wrong with a TV at your house?

Meh, whatever.

Hello anyways.

EDIT: girlfriend discussion again?

/goes back in lurk mode

PS: I don't smoke pot, and I go to college. Not like anyone cares, of course. :)

Steerpike 06-12-2005 05:44 PM

College. Great place to look for women. Too bad I'm still to frightening to get their attention in a positive way.

lunch998 06-12-2005 05:45 PM
Yea, I probably smoke too much ganja. Maryland is so boring, though!
Yea, it's even boring in Annapolis. I can't imagine how boring it must be to live in any type of smaller town or in semi-rural areas.

I can't blame you...I wouldn't want to go in sweltering heat to sit near drunk Detroit-ians and watch the Spurs manhandle the Pistons again :p
PS: I don't smoke pot, and I go to college. Not like anyone cares, of course.
Gasp!

The college non-potsmoker is as rare as the college virgin, and AH is bound to graduate as both :p

(just playin AH, I love you)

She's from the Caribbean, so it's implied that she smokes a lot of grass :D

I mean, her parents have paintings of Bob Marley all over the house.

I actually live right outside of DC, but the only things really to do are go to the 9:30 club, play my guitar, blaze, etc

Like where I go to college. On the upshot, every place worth going is within walking distance.
College. Great place to look for women. Too bad I'm still to frightening to get their attention in a positive way.
Steerpike, you always make me sad with comments like this. It'll work out, no worries. There's no possible way a guy with your intellect and talent won't be able to impress the socks off some deserving chick.

Dinnertime! See you all in a few.

lunch998 06-12-2005 05:47 PM

AH: I wouldn't go, because the Pistons are going to get owned anyway.

****, I'm both. This needs to change.

ATM 06-12-2005 05:48 PM

I think he is in Maryland somewhere. That means Steerpike, Lunch, and I are all semi-close.

D.C. is pretty unexciting too though.

Maybe about being a virgin. But there isn't anything special about pot.

Dancin' Man 06-12-2005 05:50 PM

It's OK that Jom doesn't smoke pot because then the fact that he hated his roommate would be much less interesting.

It doesn't really matter what you look like, just as long as you're more extroverted.

McDaniel College. It's a little place west of Baltimore in Carrol County.
I know...anyone who knows me knows that those are two things I happen to be very passionate about.

Well, anime/manga and metalcore would make me die. Different strokes for different folks.
I dont like Metalcore anymore. In fact, i mostly despise it. But yes, i still have a girlfriend and she is 'emo' so you know. Who cares what there like.

ATM 06-12-2005 05:52 PM

How far are you from Baltimore?

lunch998 06-12-2005 05:52 PM
McDaniel College. It's a little place west of Baltimore in Carrol County.
Yea, I know some people that went there.
Steerpike, you always make me sad with comments like this. It'll work out, no worries. There's no possible way a guy with your intellect and talent won't be able to impress the socks off some deserving chick.
I've been trying to improve my situation, believe me. But I can't undo 18 years of misanthropy in a couple of months.

It's frustrating, but it's not like I'm going anywhere any time soon. I can wait.

Jom 06-12-2005 05:53 PM

I already said I'm not going, though. If people I get along with 100% of the time invited me, I would have gone, because I would have liked those people, and it would have been fun. Yeah, the Pistons will probably get smoked again in the fourth quarter. But it would be a wild time with thousands of other hardcore fans there.

But no, long story person invited me. Ridiculous.

Steerpike 06-12-2005 05:53 PM
How far are you from Baltimore?
About an hour. Look for the little pinprick on the map called Westminster.
Yea, I know some people that went there.
They still there?

Illmatic 06-12-2005 05:53 PM
McDaniel College. It's a little place west of Baltimore in Carrol County.
Wow, all of you are in Maryland.
****, I'm both. This needs to change
Wow, I had no idea you were a virgin...
But it would be a wild time with thousands of other hardcore fans there.
The best part about going to a game...I went to a few Illini games this year, that shiz was crazy.

Arucard 06-12-2005 05:54 PM

I used to be really scared of girls a couple of years ago. Then i realised that the advice 'be yourself' really does work. Now i think what i want to think, and im not afraid to share my interests. How do you think that i would get girls if i wasnt open? Im the BM and Anime geek.

lunch998 06-12-2005 05:55 PM

Nah, my friend's older brother and his friends. Graduated a couple years ago I guess.

ATM 06-12-2005 05:56 PM

I was the biggest nerd in middle school. Girls did seem to like me, but I was too shy to really do anything about it.

Then in high school I started to gain some confidence, and now everything is cool

Lunch and Steer: We should all meet up for a show in Baltimore or something

I was a nerd in 6th grade...man that was embarrassing. I was like a mini-Carlton. I've changed a lot since then, to say the least.

Rothmans 06-12-2005 05:58 PM

Im not the worst with girls but I always end up saying something so dickheadish and it ruins everything but teh girls in this town arent what you call the catch of the day....

ATM 06-12-2005 05:59 PM

I should dig up a picture of me from middle school. I had a bowl cut, glasses, and braces, and I was extremely skinny.

Dude, that's hilarious...when I was in 6th grade I was super-skinny too...that was before my dad's genes kicked in.

I do act like myself. It seems that's the problem.

/rimshot

Seriously though, I end up coming off as very spooky and distant. People seem to get the idea even when I start talking to them that my aloofness means they're not good enough to associate with me.

ATM 06-12-2005 06:02 PM
Dude, that's hilarious...when I was in 6th grade I was super-skinny too...that was before my dad's genes kicked in.
Yea it was pretty bad. Then I moved to Norway at the end of 8th grade. When I moved back about 2 and a half years later, all these girls that I went to middle school were all of a sudden interested in me, because I thickened out, lost the glasses and braces, and had cooler hair. It was really weird.

In middle school, I could look in a mirror at twenty feet and count my ribs.

Now I look like the lead role in a werewolf movie. I still don't know if that's a good change or not.
