GeezerRULEZ 10-02-2004 07:21 PM

Hey you guys guess what...I love bass!

popinfresh 10-02-2004 07:22 PM

Omg, I can't decide wether I want a 75 or 62 re-issue jazz :upset:

lol.

Foxfire 10-02-2004 07:22 PM

I wish I could afford them, psh.

Im more of a 62 fan. The 62 and 75 are really different basses, you should try them out.

GeezerRULEZ 10-02-2004 07:26 PM

Is that an electric upright?!?! How the fuck does he make it do all that?

popinfresh 10-02-2004 07:26 PM
Im more of a 62 fan. The 62 and 75 are really different basses, you should try them out.
Yeah, I can't though.. Well I might be able to get them to order some in. All i've got right now is the sound files on fender. I've also played a 60's jazz or whatever they are. The ones that are made in japan (I think) and don't cost as much.

62's really smooth, but the 75 has a killer tone.

Foxfire 10-02-2004 07:27 PM

Well...uprights are fretless...and it's electric...and he's rich...soo...

:p

FUNKNBASS 10-02-2004 07:27 PM

The one over the bridge works as a mute, while the one over the neck pickup supposedly helps to keep out interfence. Both are removeable.

On jazzes?

Saitoku 10-02-2004 07:28 PM
Where are the other 5 strings?

:p
I'm kinda purist with basses. 4-stringser are just more appealing to me, though I do want a 6 string.

e p 10-02-2004 07:28 PM

It's the Whamola.

One stringed I believe.

Yar.
On jazzes?
On any bass...the ricks have them

Saitoku 10-02-2004 07:29 PM

I really like the ashtrays...

if I ever get a jazz I'm going to definitely get the bridge cover, and maybe the pickup cover.

Foxfire 10-02-2004 07:29 PM

I was kidding. ;p

FUNKNBASS 10-02-2004 07:29 PM

Yeah the Whamola is a single stringed washtub bass with a lever at the top that works like a tremolo.
I really like the ashtrays...

I've played several basses with em. If you play alot fingerstule and slapping you'll want to remove the one on the neck picup, the one on the bridge thou is great.

Saitoku 10-02-2004 07:33 PM
I was kidding. ;p
popinfresh 10-02-2004 07:39 PM

How come the 62 j's had a tone for each pickup, but nowadays they don't? Well.. even the 75 only has one master tone..

I never understood that either, thats one of the resons i really like the 62 it gives it a lot more two pickup flexability.

GeezerRULEZ 10-02-2004 07:43 PM

What is up with covering up the pickup tho?

Looks like i'm going to have to buy a 3 colour sunburst 62, and a natural/maple board 75 then. :p

Time to get saving.

FUNKNBASS 10-02-2004 07:44 PM

Like I said before the one over the neck pickup is supposed to lessen the inteference from outside sources, the bridge one is a mute.

popinfresh 10-02-2004 07:45 PM
What is up with covering up the pickup tho?
He told ya before..

e p 10-02-2004 07:45 PM

Save away. You could get the 75 tone out of a slightly modified Geddy Lee for less.
