christsimpson 08-24-2011 04:27 PM

Ivich, Weep, Jasemine, Anomie & Symptom of Isaac are so good. France really had emo figured out in the '90s

u know

b4 everyone started listening 2 PAES

not that there aren't good post '90s emo from France. Isaďe Buried Memorial 4 lyfe.

witchxrapist 08-24-2011 04:31 PM

Daďtro > all other France gay.

christsimpson 08-24-2011 04:33 PM

LOL let's talk about Raein and other PAES while we're at it

witchxrapist 08-24-2011 04:35 PM

LOL let's jerk off to shit 30 year olds stopped listening to after they graduated college and use terms nobody else knows to condescend about music other people listen to.

christsimpson 08-24-2011 04:36 PM

YES finally some1 that understands me on MX besides Matt

witchxrapist 08-24-2011 04:37 PM

ive realized why i dont like emo revival. none of it seems to have any emotion, it's just agression/chaos with weird time signatures and just all over too harsh. emo needs some melody, tears, and sadness in order to deliver and every emo revival band i hear is just iminating a sound and not actually connecting with the music

listen to any emo revival band then listen to something like agna moraine... and tell me what sounds like emo to you

Juddybear 08-24-2011 07:09 PM

the original stuff will always be better than the imitators

christsimpson 08-25-2011 12:45 AM

there are a million good new emo bands. being first counts for fuck all.

but the popular bands are usually the ones who just copy Christie Front Drive or Mineral with varying degrees of luck... and bad "screamo"...

but El Spectre, Jupiter Lander, Guidelines & mamma, jeg blör... and so on will always rule. herp.

Endangered Oddity 08-25-2011 05:31 AM

I'm curious as to what your guys thoughts on this band are

fromtheinside 08-25-2011 09:51 AM

El spectre rules along with Dads and Free Yon

Iluvatar 08-25-2011 11:16 AM

43 minutes of crying

christsimpson 08-25-2011 12:41 PM

I listened to For Want Of and they were kind of cool. it's like a mix between Envision and Yaphet Kotto. obviously not on par with either, but that's OK. YK's first LP is near flawless, and Envision's demo is so fucking crush.

going to have to tell Brian I finally listened to his band now, LOL.

publicastration 08-25-2011 02:18 PM

its sad to realize there probably wont ever be any emo as good as yaphet kotto

Juddybear 08-25-2011 02:51 PM

i like yaphet kotto but they arent even close to best in the genre i mean come on

publicastration 08-25-2011 03:00 PM

I mean come on okay mineral but what else

christsimpson 08-25-2011 03:30 PM

best emo bands are
A Bunny's Caravan
Indian Summer
iwrotehaikusaboutcannibalisminyouryearbook
mamma, jeg blör...
The Pine
Mineral
The Gloria Record
rest of my life

& more

I agree that there's tons of good new bands, but I also think you're deaf, cause the comparisons you always make...

Reminded of Hot Cross and Dance Gavin Dance simultaneously, very hard-on inducing.
