idk i enjoy the beginning and even think it serves as a comment on the theme of the song; which is primarily ambivalence. It opens up ominous and dark and then becomes something upbeat and happy and ends with the same eerie guitar part that it began with. Almost as if it is torn between these two ideas.

this is all an afterthought; but i can pretend i thought of it while i was writing it.
