yo dudes. does anyone know how bootsy collins got that quality deep meety tone? it sounds like loads and loads of mids but i cant tell if theres any overdrive or owt?

today just went sour, the band I was supposively "in" thinks i should have a bass off with someone thats been playing three years for the position, i dont have a bass and ive only played a little

Ive played guitar for over a year, but that only helps so much

Well, if it's of any condolence, after a few months I could absolutely pwn a local player who's played for three years. Of course he's absolutely horrid, but hey, it's all good.

Nope. The bassist in question has, on several occasions made excuses to why he cannot play well. He says his fingers get cold. Then my friends tried to have us challenge each other, and he rejected it...
