epic fail

I'll join in with the skycamefalling heiling

RetiredAt21 07-03-2008 12:22 PM

Skycamefalling is so good. I like the rough production they have.

Dimmu Burger 07-03-2008 12:23 PM

Yeah you would. lol j/k

RetiredAt21 07-03-2008 12:26 PM

I can't help that I like rough production rather than over-produced garbage i.e. (most) new metalcore.

Dimmu Burger 07-03-2008 12:28 PM

Its all good, i'm just giving you a hard time. I wish I could enjoy the older stuff, but it just doesn't grab me.

RetiredAt21 07-03-2008 12:33 PM

I have a perma-boner for 90's metalcore. :)

I do like some new stuff, though.

Dimmu Burger 07-03-2008 12:37 PM

First Blood's first EP and some other stuff I can't remember right now because I'm high.

botb 07-03-2008 09:02 PM

anyone listened to underoath's live album survive kaliedoscope that came out recently? Spencer's singing and screams have improved so much even over DtGL.

RetiredAt21 07-03-2008 11:20 PM

Ugh, Underoath.

RunAmokRampant 07-04-2008 01:57 AM

I saw Underoath live once.

Fucking borefest.

2muchket! 07-04-2008 05:21 AM

Underoath are good live

I'm really looking forward to seeing 'em after listening to Survive Kaleidoscope.

Dimmu Burger 07-04-2008 06:37 AM

I saw Underoath live like 3 times or so after They're Only Chasing Safety came out and they were very energetic. The vocals weren't as good though, which is expected considering Aaron is drumming his @$$ off and Spencer was moving around like a maniac.

Charizard 07-04-2008 07:15 AM

and spencer had no technique whatsoever back then

i miss when they used to play half cot half tocs sets :(
Ugh, Underoath
what? dont you like them? :p

Dimmu Burger 07-04-2008 08:10 AM

Yeah the new Misery Signals album hasn't grabbed me all that much, sadly. The second half, like people are saying, is good though.

2muchket! 07-04-2008 08:28 AM

It's an ok album tbh

their debut remains my favourite. Not a big fan of Mirrors either really.

Dimmu Burger 07-04-2008 08:59 AM

I'd say both of the other albums are better than the new one, though the production in Mirrors makes it barely listenable. Lemme put it this way: The good songs on Controller are some of their best, but the boring filler at the beginning of the album are some of their worst songs. The vocals are Controller are even more boring and one dimentional than they were on Mirrors. I want Jesse back.

np: Shai Hulud- Ending the Perpetual Tragedy.

Dimmu Burger 07-04-2008 12:35 PM

Shai Hulud just doesn't do it for me. Though I should try out the new album.

2muchket! 07-04-2008 12:50 PM

Haven't listened to Shai Hulud for ages actually

Xplisit 07-04-2008 12:56 PM

a Profound Hatred of Man is wicked awesome.

Damage, Inc and If Born from This Soil are so good. Linoleum too.

RetiredAt21 07-04-2008 08:45 PM

Shai Hulud are so overrated. It's crazy.

Sponer 07-04-2008 10:17 PM

DEP belong in this thread?

Cause I went and downloaded all the DEP stuff I didn't have, asides from the splits and the new album. Under The Running Board, Plagiarism, and their original s/t EP. UtRB was the best, even though it was just three songs and a little over 7 minutes. The s/t was kinda cool, just to see how they started out. And Plagiarism was ok... It's almost all cover songs, but I haven't heard most of the original songs so it was pretty meh to me.

Oh, and **** their new drummer. Pennie was a beast with DEP. All three of those EPs definitely had one thing in common--the drumming was amazing.

masada 07-04-2008 10:39 PM

yeah their new drummer ****ing sucks!!
Shai Hulud just doesn't do it for me. Though I should try out the new album.
I've been trying to listen to it some more lately, but it still hasn't really caught on. O well. I'm trying.
