duffroxmysox 11-13-2004 03:01 PM
i've never been to a fesitval
me neither :(

and so far I'm not going next year :(

I wonder if I'd actually be allowed

Brew 11-13-2004 03:01 PM

C ya Jess

This years Reading was my first entire weekend festival, it fooking rocked.

GurS 11-13-2004 03:04 PM

cya jess

GurS 11-13-2004 03:05 PM

i'd rather go to donnington than reading

Brew 11-13-2004 03:17 PM

True.

But I've already been to Donington once (Ozzfest 2002)

GurS 11-13-2004 03:21 PM

yeh, but Maiden are headlining donnington this year

Brew 11-13-2004 03:24 PM

Really?

First I've heard about it.

/checks Maiden website.

GurS 11-13-2004 03:25 PM

it's not confirmed officially... but at the end of the UK leg of the DOD tour, they said "See you in a field in two summers time!"

To me this says either donnington or Reading. and they haven't played reading since 82

Brew 11-13-2004 03:26 PM

And they played Donnington last year, so they'll probably do Reading next year.

GurS 11-13-2004 03:29 PM

i'm sceptical - metallica played reading 03 AND 04

Brew 11-13-2004 03:31 PM

*download

Maybe they'll play both festivals.

GurS 11-13-2004 03:39 PM

that would be well sweet

Brew 11-13-2004 03:41 PM

Yep.

But hopefully next years Reading will be more of a metal line-up, I know that System of a Down are going to be there.

GurS 11-13-2004 03:42 PM

why is it everyone goes to reading and no-one goes to leeds?

Brew 11-13-2004 03:44 PM

Because:

Reading > Leeds.

Its as simple as that.

Also, Reading has been around for longer.

GurS 11-13-2004 03:46 PM

fair dos

dave grohl 11-13-2004 03:49 PM

my freind is always saying fair dos its like his little thing he says all the time your not my freind are you?

Brew 11-13-2004 03:52 PM

Fair doos.

dave grohl 11-13-2004 03:53 PM

GurS 11-13-2004 03:54 PM

cairan (is that right?), what is your kit's specs?

dave grohl 11-13-2004 04:00 PM

specs? sorry for my ignorance again.

its ciaran not cairan but dont worry bout it people always get it wrong.

GurS 11-13-2004 04:02 PM

ok, well, ciaran, specs are: the make of your kit, the size of each of your drums, the make/model and sizes of each of your cymbals.

dave grohl 11-13-2004 04:09 PM

my kit aint very good really, its a cb 5 piece, if you have ever heard of that? And i dont know the sizes of the drums, i have remo heads(2 toms and a floor tom and a snare drum) zildjian and sabian cymbals 20" ride and 18" crash 12" splash and a 20" trash cymbal (actually my freind broke that yesterday so that doesnt count, and my hi-hat came with the kit and its a dented and stuff so i dont really have i hi hat basically which is pretty crap but what about you?

dave grohl 11-13-2004 04:10 PM

I also have a big bongo type drum which i got from india which makes a really cool sound when you hit with the cymbal along to i just have this behind the snare drum.

Another tool treat for ya med.

Great usertitle btw, what else you heard/have so far?

Brew 11-13-2004 04:58 PM

I didn't see Tool, I only caught the end of their set when I was eating dohnuts and drinking hot choc waiting for Ozzy.

GurS 11-13-2004 04:58 PM

lo ben, jonny

Adam Jones is GOD 11-13-2004 05:01 PM

AJ fan boys > MJK fanboys :p

You got the agreed 'must hear tracks' then. Aenima is just an awesome song in every sense, simple solo but its just a shiver down the spine one.

And lo GurS, check out the link, since you a drummer guy

GurS 11-13-2004 05:03 PM

I am?

Adam Jones is GOD 11-13-2004 05:04 PM

/looks at your avatar

GurS 11-13-2004 05:06 PM

****, he really smashes the **** out of his gong

and he's got his hats really loose, too.

Adam Jones is GOD 11-13-2004 05:09 PM

I just love the way he casually turns round to hit the gong. Brilliant.

Tool live will be so hard to watch, trying to watch Danny, Justin and Adam all at the same time, as well as attempting to get a glimpse of Maynard.

Then there's the back screens with images being played. And oh yes, the problem with being 5 '11 in a pit.

Need some more eyes

GurS 11-13-2004 05:14 PM

I'm 6' 3" :p I have no such troulbes.
