Now listening to Serge Gainsbourg, but only because that's the only CD I have in here and I can't be bothered getting another.
That's a whole lot of Sabbath. I'm totally digging The Band today. |
I've really been liking this Holy Modal Rounders album I got. First time I've listened to it. Cheerful, goofy folk from the 60's.
Edit: Avatar'd |

Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds - Abbatoir Blues/Lyre of Orpheus
I love these albums too much. So damm good. It's really classy music, but in a way it has that primative, wild feel to it. God bless the demon preacher. |

I still need to buy that. I might get it online or something.
|
I don't think it has any "crap" per se, but it has songs that don't reeeaaally work. I'd give the whole thing a 9.2/10.
Now listening to the Drones' Millers Daughter, it's not too bad. |
The Mars Volta...I saw them live yesterday so now I'm listening to them at home.

aren't they trillions better live? i find myself really bored with Deloused unless I hear the tracks live. |
Yeah they were great. Very trippy. And Cedric was kicking and flipping the microphone stand and catching it and thrusting it...it was interesting. :p

D----------------------- A-7--------------------- E---7--3-5--7-8-7-5-3-- Intro to "Repulsion" by Dinosaur Jr. I am digging this much more now  |
YDload thinks sr8kb0b0b0ok is the Dino Jr. superfan, but obviously it's me.
Get Bug first and follow it up with You're Living All Over Me. By far the two classics.
it seems we must duel. except i'm actually far from being a superfan of any band, my attention span is far too short to get that far into any band. and also it was Nacho that got me into Dinosaur Jr. just over 2 years ago in a "best vocalist" thread when he mentioned J. as one of his favorites. anyway, i really like Dinosaur, it's a lot more raw and less poppy than their other stuff, but it's refreshing to have both styles so you can go back and forth between each when you get tired of one. and their In Session CD is fun to have simply because of the new takes on their old songs. you can finally hear the guitar on In a Jar, and they played Get Me totally acoustic on it. and Bulbs of Passion is intenssssse. but yeah, it's eunanimous(sp?) that Bug and YLAOM are the essentials though. without those, you're missing out on the most. |
Sigur Rós - Ágćtis Byrjun.

Any albums/songs in particular, or just random stuff? |

Well, "My Generation" is the first song I ever learned. I have a recording of me and my friends playing it at this show with my dad on lead vocals, which was so fun, because we used to sing it together all the time. We played a clip of us singing it when I was like three, and then he came out and sang it with us. I just got the recording of our show, so I've been listening to that song over and over again, both our version and the original version. The single mix is definitely the best. But as for what Who records I usually listen to, my absolute favorites are A Quick One, Who's Next, Tommy, and Quadrophenia. |
A Day In Black And White - My Heroes Have Always Killed Cowboys
Hot Cross - Fair Trades And Farewells |
New Tortoise/Bonnie "Prince" Billy and new Prefuse downloading. I'm about to be digging those.

Life is a Sexy Sanctuary - Zita Swoon
Just got my hands on it, seems pretty tasty. |
Devendra Banhart - Cripple Crow
Minutemen - Double Nickels On The Dime [had to get it after I saw Mike Watt play with The Stooges on Friday]. Both of these albums are really long, both of them are 1 hour and 14 minutes. DNOTD is 3 seconds longer than Cripple Crow. :p |
