I've heard a lot about Joshua Fit for Battle, Orchid and Indian Summer but I have yet to check them out.

Zesty Mordant 10-28-2005 01:34 PM

I'm starting to like David Kilgour. Cool laid-back New Zeanland indie is ace.
Joshua Fit for Battle
Orchid
Saetia
Indian Summer

What a good genre.
Tell me about Orchid, I've been meaning to hear them for ages. I'm listening to CTTS this morning, I'm in a good mood for it.

The Great Decay 10-28-2005 05:15 PM

I find their singer more intense than most, and their cd's cover art's are quite groovy too. Cool band.

br3ad_man 10-28-2005 06:06 PM

Musically, they're way better than Hot Cross as well, who seem to be the second most celebrated screamo band around mx.

Happymeal 10-28-2005 06:13 PM

I actually referred to Orchid on my post, but I guess it also applies to CTTS. There's only so much Hot Cross I can listen to before I put down my earphones; I don't really enjoy them as much as everyone else does.

br3ad_man 10-28-2005 06:24 PM

Oh ok, that sounds good then.

OrbDragon 10-29-2005 04:32 AM

The Delgados
Thomas Dybdahl
Jesus Lizard
Beck
Jill Scott
Yo La Tengo

I will keep pimping The Delgados and Thomas Dybdahl on these forums. Just to annoy you all some more

Electrocution 10-29-2005 10:38 AM
That's good stuff.

Did you ever hear the Death to False Screamo compilation? All those bands (except Indian Summer) plus a lot more.
Do you have it? I want.

I like Heroin, too. The drug, not the band.

The NPC 10-29-2005 12:44 PM

Peter Gabriel

3rdplanet 10-29-2005 12:59 PM

Been listening to Talk Talk and K'naan.

asymm 10-29-2005 01:49 PM

It arrived today.

Sun Kil Moon - Tiny Cities

Interstate 10-29-2005 01:54 PM
Been listening to Talk Talk
I had the chance today to pick up one of their albums (don't know which one it was) for real cheap today but I didn't because I've never heard any of their stuff. How would you describe their sound?

el doctor 10-29-2005 02:22 PM

Avant-garde/jazz masterpiece? I don't think that's a very accurate description.

As for me:
Masada - Live In Middelheim
Melt-Banana - Cell-Scape
Swervedriver - Mezcal Head

guitarded_chuck 10-29-2005 02:23 PM

Dusted off and am listening to Dinosaur Jr - Bug.

Interstate 10-29-2005 02:41 PM
Their first few albums were very new-wave pop influenced, but their last two are pretty much avant-garde/jazz masterpieces.
Sounds pretty awesome to me, I'll have to pick one up sometime.

Diggin' The Good, The Bad And The Ugly soundtrack right now.

The Great Decay 10-29-2005 05:03 PM

What does Melt-Banana sound like?

Happymeal 10-29-2005 05:05 PM
What does Melt-Banana sound like?
Fast and furious noise-punk with Deerhoof-ish girl vocals. That's what I thought of Cell Scape anyways.

The Great Decay 10-29-2005 05:07 PM

The fast and furious noise-punk helps, and intrigues me as well, but I've never listened to Deerhoof before either.

Happymeal 10-29-2005 05:12 PM

Deerhoof's vocals are very high pitched, and it helps if you like how Japanese girls sing in English.

morrissey 10-29-2005 05:14 PM

I really, really disliked Deerhoof the one time I listened to them. I really, really don't want to try listening to them again either. The vocals are just intolerable.

Happymeal 10-29-2005 05:19 PM

It's an "Asian thing" I guess.

YDload 10-29-2005 05:28 PM

The Chameleons are a neat band.

Electrocution 10-29-2005 07:11 PM

I just put on some Johnny Cash. I'm enjoying it.
