I've heard a lot about Joshua Fit for Battle, Orchid and Indian Summer but I have yet to check them out.
|
I'm starting to like David Kilgour. Cool laid-back New Zeanland indie is ace.

I find their singer more intense than most, and their cd's cover art's are quite groovy too. Cool band. |
Musically, they're way better than Hot Cross as well, who seem to be the second most celebrated screamo band around mx.
|
I actually referred to Orchid on my post, but I guess it also applies to CTTS. There's only so much Hot Cross I can listen to before I put down my earphones; I don't really enjoy them as much as everyone else does.
|
Oh ok, that sounds good then.

The Delgados
Thomas Dybdahl Jesus Lizard Beck Jill Scott Yo La Tengo I will keep pimping The Delgados and Thomas Dybdahl on these forums. Just to annoy you all some more  |
That's good stuff.
Did you ever hear the Death to False Screamo compilation? All those bands (except Indian Summer) plus a lot more.
Do you have it? I want. I like Heroin, too. The drug, not the band. |

Been listening to Talk Talk and K'naan.
|
It arrived today.
Sun Kil Moon - Tiny Cities |
Been listening to Talk Talk
I had the chance today to pick up one of their albums (don't know which one it was) for real cheap today but I didn't because I've never heard any of their stuff. How would you describe their sound? |
Avant-garde/jazz masterpiece? I don't think that's a very accurate description.
As for me: Masada - Live In Middelheim Melt-Banana - Cell-Scape Swervedriver - Mezcal Head |
Dusted off and am listening to Dinosaur Jr - Bug.
|
Their first few albums were very new-wave pop influenced, but their last two are pretty much avant-garde/jazz masterpieces.
Sounds pretty awesome to me, I'll have to pick one up sometime. Diggin' The Good, The Bad And The Ugly soundtrack right now. |
What does Melt-Banana sound like?
|
What does Melt-Banana sound like?
Fast and furious noise-punk with Deerhoof-ish girl vocals. That's what I thought of Cell Scape anyways. |
The fast and furious noise-punk helps, and intrigues me as well, but I've never listened to Deerhoof before either.
|
Deerhoof's vocals are very high pitched, and it helps if you like how Japanese girls sing in English.
|
I really, really disliked Deerhoof the one time I listened to them. I really, really don't want to try listening to them again either. The vocals are just intolerable.

It's an "Asian thing" I guess.
|
The Chameleons are a neat band.
|
I just put on some Johnny Cash. I'm enjoying it.
