Oh and I met Bill Bruford and Jack DeJohnette. Bill Bruford was alright. Jack was really great but the thing with the mallets and his exotic scale of resonating bells is a bit gimmicky IMO.

So I finally got the new drumset. Pics coming soon. It sounds AMAZING, I mean, absurdly so. The 18" floor rattles the walls, I swear. The smaller toms are filled with clarity, and the kick drums give the perfect cannon sound I prefer. All I need now is a second kick pedal so I can actually use the second kick...and also a hihat/ bass drum clamp.

I saw EST last night too. They were amazing, but I wished they would have played Brewery of Beggars.

Branford Marsalis is playing here tonight with Jeff 'Tain' Watts and Jack DeJohnette on piano.
