The Publius Enigma is quite interesting, I thought. I suspect it was Dave having a fun time, but others believe it was either the management or Nick.

More is easily the best pre-DSOTM album.

'Bus, do tell me in an intricate gmail all the details of your amazing technique.

Also, I'm back guys. Hurrah!

Hurrah indeed. Any chance of uploading the soundtrack to More?

BigTrav415 02-17-2006 07:10 PM

Hurrah!

Free Four is so awesome. I can't get over it. That bass organ slam between each line, and that cheery upbeat acoustic riff with those humorously dark lyrics... if I had to choose one Floyd song that represented them as a band, it just might have to be Free Four.

Of course I'd die of old age before I could choose just one Floyd song.

Led-ZeppelinIV 02-17-2006 07:33 PM

Nvm about More, I got it through a torrent.

Nosferatu 02-18-2006 03:48 PM

i've been listening to Meddle a lot lately. i think its becoming one of my favorite floyd albums. definately favorite pre-DSOTM, but i still think Animals is a classic, probably my favorite of all of theirs

This has absolutely nothing to do with Pink Floyd, but I just discovered the band in your username a couple days ago. Good proggy stuff.

More's pretty good, but I feel that it is still one of Floyd's weaker albums.

Rounder 02-18-2006 04:26 PM

Meddle is in my top 3, More is good, under certain mentally stimulating circumstances it is a very captivating listening experience.

never heard of that band. i chose this username because everything else i wanted was taken and i just happened to be listening to a song called Nosferatu while i was registering, so i chose that.

I remeber seeing the band robo's talking about on this blog website. Originally, Nosferatu was a horror movie I beleive.

periculosus 02-18-2006 05:44 PM

hey i just wanted to know if somenone around here has the vinyl edition of the dark side of the moon !?!?

It's great. Such a good example of making such a catchy pop-rock song have a meancing undercurrent.

I and about a dozen others, I imagine.

Nosferatu is a vampire.

What don't you like about it?

BigTrav415 02-18-2006 07:22 PM

Jeez Riva, what is this, the Politics forum?

/bad joke that no one will get

I was at my friend's house today, and I took my iPod and iPod speaker, and we were playing some World of Warcraft and I flipped on Free Four. He seemed to like it a lot. I also played Baba O'Riley while we were playing Perfect Dark. I think I've got him hooked on CR.

By the way, you look like an extremely unstable badass/crazy metalhead in your picture. I'd never guess you liked stuff like Pink Floyd :p

robo2448 02-18-2006 07:31 PM
What don't you like about it?
I like it. I just don't think it's one of Floyd's strongest efforts. It's not quite as consistent as some of their other stuff. I think it probably is one of their most interesting albums though.

nobodyblossomsforever 02-18-2006 07:49 PM

I've never listened to More. What type of stuff is on it?

robo2448 02-18-2006 07:56 PM

Well it's very different from anything else Floyd ever did. It's the soundtrack to a movie and a solid portion of it is instrumental. And then there's the Nile Song which is pretty much just completely different from anything else they ever recorded. It has some great songs like the Nile Song and Cymbaline and then some not so great boring stuff. Inconsistent, but if you're a Floyd fan, it's definitely worth getting.

nobodyblossomsforever 02-18-2006 07:59 PM

I am guessing that the movie was...More???

BigTrav415 02-18-2006 08:01 PM

Haha, just watched the movie "Dick" on Comedy Central about Richard Nixon and Watergate. That movie had some great music.

Van Wilder on now :D

Cymbaline is a great song, Its worth the album just for that song.
Green is the colour is good to. Theyve done a bunch of soundtracks, I don't think some of them were actually released as albums.

Riva 02-19-2006 05:13 AM

Cymbaline is great, since it's actually a glimpse into the future, namely The Final Cut. Well, to me it is.

WelcomeToTheMachine 02-19-2006 11:30 AM

Echoes is amazing, anybody who doesnt agree doesnt deserve to listen to music.

MidnightRider 02-19-2006 11:58 AM

Yeah, Echoes = My favorite song ever.

BigTrav415 02-19-2006 12:02 PM

Yep, I was trying to learn it on guitar earlier, but for some reason it didn't sound right. I don't know why.

Rounder 02-19-2006 12:59 PM

because only those whose heart is pure can get the dagger-I mean learn to play echoes.

magicbus 02-19-2006 04:49 PM

I can honestly say I know how to play the entire song, good thing it's so awesome. :D

I was listening to SOYCD earlier today. It's still an amazing song, but I wish I could hear it for the first time again. It was crazy not knowing what was going to happen next.

MidnightRider 02-19-2006 06:16 PM

Yeah, I remember the first time I heard those 4 notes kick in. That song has to have one of the best build ups ever.

Yeah, I think we've all been through that phase at one time or another. Animals is incredible, I remember hearing Pigs for the first time and being blown away.

Riva 02-20-2006 01:59 AM

Hehe, my girlfriend loves Dogs more than any other Pink Floyd song, except for See Emily Play.

Oh yeah, I have the coolest girlfriend ever.
