Searching for a former Clarity sounds a lot like As the Eternal Cowboy.

It's almost as if they don't suck at their instruments or singing anymore...

TakeWarning 12-23-2005 11:21 PM

See everyone seems to hate SFAFC but it kinda grew on me. It's nothing brilliant, but it has a few good songs, a little boring, but listenable in the end.

I don't believe they ever were bad.

TakeWarning 12-23-2005 11:24 PM

I reckon As The Eternal Cowboy is better than Reinventing Axl Rose.

Well then i liked them better when they sucked i guess.

Subvert_bassist 12-23-2005 11:49 PM

I still love Against Me! Well, all their stuff up until Reinventing Axl Rose, anyways.

Oh, BEFORE, they were not cool but slightly cooler than they were before. This is just taking the "I liked a band when they were underground" a step further.
/2cents.

Lazybassplr56 12-24-2005 12:16 AM

I have yet to hear Reinventing Axl Rose for some reason.

Flagjacket 12-24-2005 12:18 AM

We Laugh At Danger is an amazing song.

Underground has nothing to do with it. I stopped listening to their new stuff entirely when that album came out because they ruined "Those Anarcho Punks Are Mysterious" on that album.
I'm feeling stupid on this whole lawsuit thing, is that why PIX isn't gonna be selling Crime anymore?
No the (threatened) lawsuit thing was apparently over the Ham forum at the PIX boards. The users changed Against Me's name to "ham" as basically a way to make fun of them.

Angry Balled Fists! 12-24-2005 04:34 AM

Ok, so SFAFC is an amazong record imo now.

Miami, Justin, Unproctected sex..., From her lips to gods ears, Violence, How Low, Holy ****, Even at our worst were still better than most, problems, dont lose touch abd SFAFC are all rteally good songs, and the ones i didn't mention aren't terrible either.

TakeWarning 12-24-2005 04:37 AM

My favoruites on SFAFC include Miami, From Her Lips To God's Ears and Unprotected Sex With Multiple Partners.

Yeah, everything you said except for violence and dont lose touch.

Angry Balled Fists! 12-24-2005 06:51 AM

I like Violence and LOVE don't lose touch, it's not cool to like that song, but it's great.

Bad Blood 12-24-2005 08:57 AM

Joy is one of the best slower/acoustic songs i've ever heard.

AIRIC 12-24-2005 12:54 PM

We get spammed by Ultimate-Guitar and that's all they do?

Angry Balled Fists! 12-24-2005 01:18 PM

lmao.

Joy isn't that good imo.

Nah, i will later.

Flagjacket 12-24-2005 02:27 PM

I think I will venture into the pop punk forums because this one is slow.

CAPTAIN'S LOG: Okay I'm back and it was pretty stupid.

Big surprise there.

CameoRole 12-24-2005 08:02 PM

Joy is so great and Dont Lose Touch is amazingly catchy and fun to play.

We Laugh at Danger... is fun since it speaks to my Floridian ears.

obese_breasts 12-24-2005 08:08 PM

I'm going to play Joy solo for my school talent show in February.

I'd love to do some cool bass part from a song I like for some talent show or something, but my school sucks, and any kind of good music would be completely lost on all but a few other students.

Play something horrible, and stop being defeatist. By horrible I mean horrible to them, not to us, ie. play George Clinton.

"Hard as steel and still gettin' harder. He's long, strong, a yard of tongue."

Haha. I would never do that. (Grabs black ski mask, as not to be seen.)

I wish my brother George was here.
Hell yes! Anarchists that threaten DIY labels with the court system. That's so anarchy it hurts. Take down the forum making fun of us! Free expression is NOT anarchy!

I haven't ever called them sellouts nor does the sire thing bother me in the slightest bit. In fact, legal action threats and taking Crime off PIX is the only thing that bothers me about this band.

EDIT: By the way, the good people at PIX do progressive things. How would AM! suing them help with it?
So why wasn't this the issue at first? I don't follow bands bios, so I didn't know any of this, but people are screaming "sell out" just because they signed to a major. You're the first one that I saw bring up this whole lawsuit issue

Brain Toad 12-26-2005 09:07 PM

The major label thing is more well known to people who aren't huge fans then the fact they tired to sue PIX over that (hell I didn't know about that) and Sid takes more issue in the suit then the 'selling out' since after the suit he had already lost any respect he had for them (and he had a lot, I think he was one of the bigger fans on the board)

rawdog 12-27-2005 07:52 AM

I got my ticket for the melbourne show!!! It should be interesting to see how many people show up compared to last time...

TakeWarning 12-27-2005 08:10 AM

How many people showed last time?

I wonder how many people will show up to the Perth show, I have absolutely no idea.

Angry Balled Fists! 12-27-2005 08:23 AM

It makes me sad listenign to the lyrics of "Reinventing Axl Rose", they contradicted themselves so much.

Oh well, i still love them, i got the acoustic Ep the other day, it's incredible !

When I listen to Turn Those Clapping Hands Into Angry Balled Fists I get pretty angry. I don't know why, I guess because that song is about the punk scene in general, and it just pisses me off.

CameoRole 12-27-2005 12:24 PM

What other songs are there about a tight nit scene where money ain't an issue like Reinventing? I mean, there are so few good songs that aren't cliche. Rise Above is kinda like that, but not as heartfelt, ya know? We were born, with a cause. That line gets me everytime. Our arenas are just basements and bookstores. I mean ****, that's genius.

Angry Balled Fists! 12-27-2005 01:18 PM

Hey, this made me feel better:

Henrik 12-27-2005 01:53 PM

Wow, That sounds awesome.

I have a question:
On www.interpunk.com there are two versions of crime. A new re-issued one that says it's digipack. The new one is definitely just the new sabot production. But if I buy the old one, will it then contain burn burn burn?
Have anyone ordered their crime on interpunk???
