You forgot the title lol.
It'll be called the crusade. And they're going to be doing a few different tunings like standard |
basically after this album, trivium will be the sh!t. and metalcore will be dead forever.

One can only hope. |

And why do you think that? |
haha damn dude, thats pretty cool. i cant wait to hear it.
|
And why do you think that?
metalcore sucks, and its dying anyways. and trivium is opening for maiden for a few weeks after the crusade comes out, playing in front of like 35,000 a night. |

I like Trivium, they are pretty good musicians, but the bass not being very audible just sucks.
I like It Dies Today, they are good metalcore. |
There is nothing wrong with true metalcore. But I believe metalcore died the day bands like From Autumn to Ashes started incorperating it into thier punk.
|
Most people think metalcore is like Atreyu so they don't give it a chance at all.
/Likes Atreyu. |
Most people think metalcore is like Atreyu so they don't give it a chance at all.
/Likes Atreyu.
That's because people confuse metalcore and hardcore all the time. And by hardcore, I mean this American version of hardcore (Atreyu, Avenged Sevenfold, Time In Malta, etc.), rather than true hardcore (The Haunted). |
I listened to trivium for a week and got bored with them. Their first CD sucks. I'm sorry. It sucks. Their second CD was decent. It had good soloing on it. His vocals are kewl, but then I heard them live, and he can't sing at all. I completely lost all respect for them. If you can't pull it off live, then that is just pathetic.

Just back from a Trivium gig in Belfast. It was unbelievable. Again, going back to what was said about Matt's voice. He has fucked it up quite a bit. He kept apologising for not being able to sing properly, but it didn't sound that bad. Apart from that, amazing show. They played a medley of classic tunes that included 'Symphony of Destruction' and 'Seek and Destroy', which was pretty cool. The support was amazing as well. God Forbid are a great live band.
Matt's a good musician, don't get me wrong, but he loses his voice when they play live, he is not a good vocalist, he kills it for me.
I like heard hes getting or has got singing lessons not sure if thats true but that should help shouldnt it? maybe he doesnt warm his voice up properly??:chug: i jus thought all they do is tour the should take a break and let his voice recover |

Do you know there exact set? |
Do you know there exact set?
When I went they played every song of Ascendency and nothing from From Ember To Infernum. I think they also played a short version of Walk by Pantera. |

Doesn't surprise me. and Fix'd. |
Doesn't surprise me. and Fix'd.
Yea I wasnt sure if it was Infernum or Inferno. I've seen it both ways, so I guessed. |
I saw trivium just an hour ago. Heafy said he had a throat infection thing and had just seen a doctor before they played. He still sounded really great i think.
The PA for the vocals crapped out on one side at one point and they just started jamming till it was fixed. I was pretty blown away esp. corey. They tried to kinda battle but heafy just gave in and didn't even try some of the stuff corey was playing. Corey would play a long piece then matt would just give a couple of high bends to kinda say I give up I'm not even trying that. Then corey improvised a song and heafy watched for a bit then just joined in. the bassist just did his own thing the whole time too and the drummer was no problem. It was just corey's improv then heafy would take a min to get into it with them. They also played like 10 cover songs. they played MoP and got someone from the crown to go up and sing with them. They also played domination and walk. and the whole show they played on dean dime's. A razorback and an ML i think but im just guessing. God Forbid are great too although i didn't know any of the old stuff. One of the guitarist's I really liked (the one that wasn't bald)and I liked the singer and the drummer wasn't bad. |
Wow that sounds really cool, a unique show to go to. What other covers did they play?
|
It's hard to remember now. I know they played these:
Green Day-when i come around Blink 182-Dammit lynyrd skynyrd-sweet home alabama Pantera-Walk Pantera-Domination Metallica-Master of Puppets Rammstein-Du hast I didnt get some of them and the rest i don't remember but some were joke ones like those blink and greenday and some were a lot better.I think there may have been iron maiden I dont remember and some other things all the metalheads knew. Someone shouted for them to play raining blood or something and he said to corey but then went na we haven't got it prepared. It was certainly unique but the bit when the PA broke was just incedible and far better than anything they recorded on the albums. some of it was just wank but some was really great and some almost bluesy with some nice slides. That really surprised me that corey played like that. Some people had their phones out to record it and i doubt it will be repeated but I loved it. The stage was pretty strange too cos the drummer was away in the back raised up. then there was riased bits in front of him with mics and corey and the bassist went up there then he jumped down of it onto the normal part of the stage next to heafy at one point. The drummer had an amazing solo though i know nothing about drumming. I noticed he had two bass drums though and he sounded great using both of those real fast. |
Pantera-Domination
best pantera song ever. I'd kill to see trivium play that. |
:)
personally i prefered walk. they didnt play the full songs of course just the start but that was probably to save time cos of the time spent when the pa broke. I've seen a video of them playing them and on that they played quite a lot of domination. |
I just saw that gig too
*imaginary fives* I wasn't blown away tbh. Their overall sound was a little muddier than I expected, Matts voice was crappin out, couldn't hear the guitar solo's very well, etc. But the set was cool enough, they had all the crowd pleasers off ascendency, although I'm sure they were missing a few, I can't remember names of songs. Good crowd interaction, got us pumped for the big uns, but I kinda felt they ****ed around too much in the encore. |
Do you remember any of the covers they played?
I like that about the encore the way it seemed like they were just messing around playing songs they know and like to play. like it wasnt all planned and im sure it wasn't although they had prepared some of the songs. It seemed real relaxed and fun. What did you think of the bit when the pa broke? that definately wasnt planned and just all improv. Where were you standing/ what do you look like I may have seen you. Im quite disctinctive so you would know if you saw me I think. |

I was up on the balcony, only seats I could get, wouldn't sit there again tho, gigs are much better up front but I had no choice this time. I didn't even notice a difference when the p.a. went! the acoustics are weird up there, everything sounds "central". You know what though, I thought it was quite endearing that they couldn't play one cover song all the way through, reminds me of my own band, we just learn riffs, never whole songs, too busy trying to write our own stuff. |
Ah they were selling tickets then after they sold out they changed the venue to the carling and were selling new tickets but only upstairs since the people with tickets for the old vanue got first choice of tickets in carling. I bought them after the venue change anyway. I thought it was strange when they told me there was only upstairs left even though I was preordering them. I preodered cos they hadnt printed new ones yet. Anyway when i went to collect them due to some accident with printing or the filing or something I got downstairs. :)
Upstairs would have been better than nothing though and the carling sold out too so they should have chosen an even bigger venue. The queue was insane. Im sure they could learn those whole songs if they felt like it and probably played some of those when they first started playing cos they arent that old. Time wouldnt allow it mostly I think. and they werent meant to be proper covers just fun messing around and guess the riff type thing. notice matt actually messed up blink-dammit... The sound is always pretty bad there and I have come to expect it from gigs pretty much anywhere in glasgow. I have to go to the carling again tomorrow and after Trivium its going to seem terrible. I kinda wish i didnt have to go and i dont like the band but im going with a friend who wants to go. |

Like Light to Flies Requiem Rain The Decieved Ember to Inferno Washing Away Me In The Tides A Gunshot to the Head of Trepidation Suffocating Sight Dying In Your Arms Medley of a lot of different stuff here (mostly just intros or main riffs): Du Hast - Rammstein Symphony of Destruction - Megadeth Sweet Home Alabama - Lynyrd Skynyrd Dammit - Blink 182 Jailbreak - Thin Lizzy Seek and Destroy - Metallica Domination - Pantera Walk - Pantera Master of Puppets - Metallica (with a random guy from the crowd singing on stage) Pull Harder on the Strings of Your Martyr Not exact, but that's as much as I can remember. |
Dude that sounds crazy! I can't beleive they did a show like that.
/go's searching online |
I remember now they also played the start to an eminem song. Then everyone chanted rain of blood and matt said to corey who wasnt looking, "they're asking for rain of blood corey". then he went "na we dont have it prepared. yeah I know what your thinking they have eminem prepared but not slayer?"

Hope you guys enjoy. |
Trivium. Yeah, I used to be one of the bashers after hearing Gunshot, but with help from my friends, and extensive play on Kerrang and MTV2, it really grew on me.
Ascendancy and Ember to Inferno. Wow, two great records. Blew me away when I heard it all. Its too bad I wasnt converted a little bit earlier. Might've had a chance of getting a ticket to see em live. They playing at Birmingham Academy on Thursday. Damn. Ah well, theres always Download Festival to see em at. |
