Mick Jones produced The Libertines album and it's ****ing great.seriously, one of the best stuff I've heard this year.Mick Jones knows what he's doing, and it was probably awesome for the guys in The Libertines to have him producing their cd cause they grew up listening to The Clash.

Which Libertines album is that? I've been meaning to check it out.

CombatRock 03-12-2005 09:07 PM

what kind of music are they?

sketchyjoe 03-12-2005 09:08 PM

The Libertines suck and Pete Doherty is a useless junkie with down syndrome.

Forest_Fire 03-12-2005 09:26 PM

London Calling is winning/tied for winning early on in the greatest albums poll!

AndreTheHyena 03-12-2005 10:18 PM

Tied with what?

[/lazy]

Forest_Fire 03-12-2005 10:35 PM

It was tied with FFFRV, but now it's in the lead.

The poll is the first sticky on the page if you didn't see it

CombatRock 03-12-2005 10:42 PM

hey.what kind of music is the libertines..to lazy to download a song

TheNowhereman42 03-13-2005 12:21 AM

They're kindof indie/pop-rock stuff. Someone bought me the cd, its got a good song or two, but overall not very impressive

AndreTheHyena 03-13-2005 06:16 AM
Which Libertines album is that? I've been meaning to check it out.
Yes.

Scabies 03-13-2005 06:24 AM

Its self titled, they sound a lot like the first clash album. Their first albums much better than the second apparently.

Coma_Girl 03-13-2005 10:49 AM

i was surprised to see a picture of mick in the booklet...then i read he produced it.i didnt even know he was a producer

AndreTheHyena 03-13-2005 12:28 PM

Everybody's a producer.

Forest_Fire 03-13-2005 03:03 PM

CombatRock 03-13-2005 03:04 PM

which cd is liek the clash first album by the libertines?

Coma_Girl 03-13-2005 04:55 PM
which cd is liek the clash first album by the libertines?
none of their albums really sounds like the clash (album), but they have been influenced by the clash (the band)

sketchyjoe 03-13-2005 05:07 PM

The Libertines are like The Clash except The Clash wasn't a shit band fronted by a useless twat junkie with Down Syndrome.

Eloquent and PC as always.

Libertines are horrible "garage rock" in the style of The Strokes, except British.

So if you're into pointless music, they're just perfect.

guns_of_brixton 03-13-2005 07:58 PM

AIRIC 03-13-2005 08:18 PM

This thread sucks though...

Coma_Girl 03-13-2005 08:32 PM

let's keep it on the joe/clash subject or the thread will be close.

btw, i just heard the redemption song version of bob marley, and i think the joe one is like 100x better. The Joe one makes me cry, but I like it that way.

AndreTheHyena 03-13-2005 09:31 PM

I like the one with Joe and Johnny Cash best.

TheNowhereman42 03-13-2005 10:50 PM

agreed

btw I acctually got Streetcore and its amazing, Get Down Moses is basically a 5 minute recording of pure orgasm

Forest_Fire 03-14-2005 03:05 PM

The other day I was at FYE and I saw streetcore, but it wouldn't let me listen to it. :upset:

I thought about buying it anyway, but I'd really like to hear some first

guns_of_brixton 03-14-2005 03:10 PM

Forest_Fire 03-14-2005 03:11 PM

guns_of_brixton 03-14-2005 03:14 PM

i think somewhere inside i'm still waiting for the next meskies album. :upset:

Coma_Girl 03-14-2005 04:40 PM
The other day I was at FYE and I saw streetcore, but it wouldn't let me listen to it. :upset:
you cant appreciate how good streetcore is if you dont listen to it in your bedroom or in the bus with your headphones the first time. You have to be...concentrate?Hmm...concentrate is not the word, I don't even know if it's a word...I can't explain what I mean.

The best part is when they go into the pre-chorus, and Joe just busts out with "Like Jewels, In the rough!" over the organ playing.

I think I need a towel.

EDIT:Andy, before this thread you had like 400 posts. Now 950. that's crazy.
