i have seen 'something i can never have' live :D

to the upload. i will wait this day for some more ppl ... now you are only 2. And i will send the link to Neurotoxin too. So, tomorrow it should be uploaded...be patient

dUSK 10-07-2005 08:14 AM

Patience is of the essence.

And I was lucky enough to see Something I Can Never Have live. It was brilliant, although it didn't compare to Hurt. :D

repcak 10-07-2005 08:26 AM

for me 'Something i can never have' is the best NIN-song, though most fans say its 'hurt'.
well, i can identify with SICNH more than with hurt... maybe its only me. the songs accompany my life since i turned 15 :thumb:

äh, i have a video(live) where NIN is singing SICNH... about 70mb big. should i upload it too? its a great version :D

dUSK 10-07-2005 08:40 AM

I think I might have the same video. Is Trent wearing a 'Satanic Army' top? I have most of NIN's music videos if you would like any. Just ask.

And what made Hurt just that bit more amazing when I saw them live, was that there was one moment, for just a second. Where I, and I think a lot of the crowd, realised how great the moment was. I will never forget the smile that came over Trents face, before he lowered his head to hide it. It was one of the best moments of my life.

Carn 10-07-2005 08:43 AM

I hope that the next record is a bit more like The Fragile. I love TDS and WT but somehow The Fragile has done the most for me

yes, thats it :thumb:
yeah, would be great to get some more vids. I have the videoclip to 'closer', 'star****ers inc.' and 'I am afraid of americans' feat. David Bowie (this one is great!! Never saw Trent Reznor looking so EVIL  ) and the live videos to 'Something i can never have' and 'Sin'
Any recommendations for an upload :) !?

Maybe this was the moment we didn't have. Hurt live is amazing cause the crowd is singing along the text, but not-live i prefer SICNH. I love the version from "Natural Born Killers soundtrack"... when you have seen the movie and you hear the song afterwards ... wow... the best version i ever heard of this song. really!! :thumb:
I hope that the next record is a bit more like The Fragile. I love TDS and WT but somehow The Fragile has done the most for me
I doubt there would be another 'Fragile'; I doubt he can reach this level of songwriting once again...

BlindWriting 10-07-2005 05:29 PM

I just listened to With Teeth for the first time in quite a few months. I have a new appreciation for quite a few songs, like Beside You In Time.

repcak 10-07-2005 05:33 PM

Beside you in time is one of my favourites WT_songs.

WOW... i just listen to 'further downward spiral' and the version of 'Eraser' is fukcing amazing... OMFG, fantastic

dUSK 10-07-2005 05:55 PM

repcak, your must haves are done. I'll get you the rest sooner or later. To the other guy, same deal.

Heck yeah, that's one of my favorite NIN songs period. I always think that record is one dimensional, then I listen to it and I realize it's really not. There are some classic songs on there. I like every song except THTF and Getting Smaller.

repcak 10-07-2005 06:15 PM

thx
when you upload 'help me i am in hell' for the other guy (i guess you do it by YSI), you can give me the link too.

/good night

dUSK 10-07-2005 07:26 PM

That should be everything sent out now. If I forgot anything let me know, and I'll get it to you. If somebody else wants something, post what you want along with your email and I'll foward you the links. :)

I agree, except I love Getting Smaller.

The only song that I don't really like on WT (but still listen to anyway) is Sunspots.

Thanks for the Ticks and Leeches upload! It was certainly a treat to watch Danny Carey perfect such an impressively difficult drum-piece!

repcak 10-08-2005 03:29 AM

i stood up today, checked my email and there were a lot of new emails who flattered into my box last night.
thank you, thanky you... :thumb:

Repcak can you forward me the links for the videos?

thomlazyeyed@yahoo.com

I'm particullary interested in We're In This Together. That's the only NIN video I haven't already seen.

Random Trivia: The Perfect Drug and The Closer videos were both directed by Mark Romanek. That's why they have a simmilar video progression.TPD is better tho.

repcak 10-08-2005 05:41 AM

hm... i tried to upload it through YSI and it failed two times... then i tried to upload it via megaupload.com and the transferrate was about 0.38kb/sec. (file size 141mb)

... have to find another way.

repcak 10-08-2005 09:19 AM

@Nobuo>>>>=God: mail with all links is send.

The videos of 'Burn', 'Head like a hole' , 'March of the Pigs', 'The Day the world went away', 'the perfect drug' and 'Wish' are fantastic musicvideos. i liked them most...especially March of the Pigs (this agression!!), 'The perfect drug' (the beginning is really funny :D )

repcak 10-08-2005 03:56 PM

so me again... sorry for the triple-post during the whole day :D

i send the mail with the link (bootleg: live in fresno) to all of you.

bwnstl 10-08-2005 06:00 PM

Repcak I didn't get it. :(

Edit: Nevermind! got sent to my spam folder for some reason. Thanks very much!

Reywas 10-09-2005 07:41 AM

I already had Live In Fresno but thanks a bunch for the videos.

I like everything on that album except...

...You Know What You Are? = WORST NIN SONG EVER

God I hate that song. :upset: The only part I can stand is the bass/keyboard outro.

But other then that, I love the album. :)

Kage 10-09-2005 11:08 AM

I like You Know What You Are? a lot. One of my favorite things about it is the out-of-place sounding piano in the chorus, and the undercurrent of dark and machine-like ambience that make the song what it is. Aside from those very NIN touches, it's not an amazingly written song, but it's always been the subtleties that make NIN what it is.

Leper Affinity 10-09-2005 11:12 AM

I thought they really overdid the drums on that one. The main parts of the song were alright, but the chorus was horrible...methinks. I don't really mind though. That album has some really great songs that make up for a few downfalls.

dUSK 10-10-2005 06:58 PM

repcak, you can take down the bootleg now. I downloaded it, but sadly it screwed up and I was only able to salvage the first 5 tracks. :(

ThunderBass 10-11-2005 08:30 AM

'You Know What You Are?' is one of my favourite tracks on the album... i dont mind the aggressive drum beat and dont think that its overdone... if every second song on the album had that style then maybe...

misunderstood 10-12-2005 03:46 PM

I personally think 'You Know What You Are' is a great song. It's a great live song. I wouldn't go as far as saying it's one of my favorite ones off the album, but it's still a good one nonetheless. 'Beside You In Time' and 'All the Love in the World' are some of my favorite ones. Heh, I wonder what ever happened to his "master plan"...if he even ever had one.

Anyway, listened to an interview with Trent earlier and he was once again asked about the whole Tapeworm project. Said that although that didn't work out, he was sure he and Maynard would work together again in the future. That would be awesome (of course, hoping the project does see the light of day). He also commented on why they don't play songs such as 'The Perfect Drug' and 'We're in This Together Now' (one of my favorite tracks off The Fragile). Something about the vocal range being to high for him and he didn't know what the hell he was thinking when he recorded that one. It was a good short phone interview.

Leper Affinity 10-12-2005 03:50 PM

That's disappointing as hell. :( "The Perfect Drug" and "We're in This Together" are two of my favorite NIN songs ever.

tenorbass 10-12-2005 04:03 PM

hey fellow NIN fans. I have liked NIN sence i was 10 and they are still one of my favorite bands. I just saw them live about 5 days ago bloody amazing night. My favoriute cd is Pretty Hate Machine. I have ever halo except 18 and 20. If anyone could help me out with those 2 that would be great!! thanks. :thumb:

repcak 10-12-2005 05:05 PM

halo18 and 20? ... hm.. what albums?! don't know inside out what album-title is which halo...

@all NIN-regulars here:
Everyone says that only TDS is a concept album and that TF and WT is not! I disagree.
Maybe its not a concept album in the classic way, but the following albums have still a 'story' to tell. Never realized it?

The Fragile: I still haven't worked this album out to the end. Its ever more hard, cause it consists of 2 cds. Therefore i will speak of the first one (which has for sure a 'story' to tell - i'm not sure with the second one). I still don't know exactly what it's about, but it has something to do with a 'love-story': Trent Reznor fails in love, realizes that the other person doesn't love him and he is rejected. He describes his feelings of 'failing' in love and so on...
The song "The Fragile" (taken as an album-title) is one of the beautifullest love-songs i 've heard -> "she shines in a world full of ugliness, she matters when everything is meaningless "

With_Teeth: The story how Trent Reznor 'defeated' his depressions. His way through therapy, the up and downs.
f.e.: The song: "Every day is exactly the same" describes a/one feeling of depression-state or the day-routine in a hospital of rehabilitation; the song text: "I'm writing on a little piece of paper, I'm hoping someday you might find, Well I'll hide it behind something, They won't look behind" > maybe its the letter someone leaves before he commit suicide... and in this case its the note trent wanted to leave.

its one o'clock in the night and i'm tired... maybe you discuss it and i will add more of my interpretation-ideas tomorrow.
