Yeah, the Red Rock's DVD would of been great if you could've actually heard what Mike and Ben were playing.

Instead it's just Brandon dancing around hitting on the bongos and trying to look hot for the ladys.

Back in the S.C.I.E.N.C.E. and Make Yourself days, most Incubus fans were male, so it wasn't just Brandon showing off his ass the whole time.

If I remember correctly, the camera zooms in on his chest and goes down at one point. That dvd was made for chicks. The music was still good.

Idiot Martyr 10-04-2005 02:03 PM

Yeah the first thing I noticed about the Red Rocks DVD was the volume of the instruments. And I was highly dissappointed by not being able to hear the bass and guitar as much I could Brandon's voice.

I feel Like a Hat 10-04-2005 03:18 PM

You can hear the guitar and bass fine if you change something in the audio menu section. I only have to change the option on my computer, with my ps2 it's fine.

Skyler 10-04-2005 03:55 PM

I play the DVD on my PS2 as well, and I can't hear shit except for Brandon and Jose, the two people that I could care less about.

Ever since Incubus recorded Morning View, they turned into a chick band, and it's fucking gay.

I feel Like a Hat 10-04-2005 04:04 PM

I left the dvd at my firends house so I don't know what the section is called, but theres an audio menu. Just change something in there. I think there's only one potion to change if I remember right.

Yeah, Brandon not wearing shirts and using to much falsetto is getting kind of annoying. Atleast before when he didn't wear shirts he also didn't shave his chest.

BlindWriting 10-04-2005 04:15 PM

Wait, what's this about Brandon playing rhythm guitar?

I feel Like a Hat 10-04-2005 04:16 PM

Have you heard the song pantomime?

Idiot Martyr 10-04-2005 04:34 PM
Have you heard the song pantomime?
Or Pistola and Here in My Room
Have you heard the song pantomime?
I have not.
Or Pistola and Here in My Room
Yes.

Idiot Martyr 10-04-2005 05:20 PM
I have not.
Brandon plays rythm guitar by himself until the rest of the band comes in.
Yes.
When playing live, Brandon plays the heavily flanged second guitar during the bridge of Pistola;during Here in My Room he plays guitar (except for the solo). while Mike plays piano.

Besides the lyrics, that song kind of sucks. :-/ It gets bumped up to average live though becuase of the lighting and everything.

Janitor 10-04-2005 05:59 PM

Hey, fuck you it's a pretty alright song.

Sound Boy 10-04-2005 08:10 PM

i was just stating the inevitable. Brandon is gonna wanna do more then just sing. like on the other albums. but in my opinion he should bring back the Djembe and the didgeridoo for the new album.

I'm sure Brandon will be playing some guitar. He wrote the guitar parts for "Pantomine" and seeing how simple it is, it still turned out to be an incredible song.

shadow316 10-05-2005 08:32 AM

Great band, but i don't like Dirk Lance's tone line. It sounds rattly and tinny imo.

Alessandro 10-05-2005 11:01 AM

Where did you hear that?

I feel Like a Hat 10-05-2005 12:02 PM

Mike would never have written a chord progression that simple.

Janitor 10-05-2005 12:05 PM

Brandon probably wrote the guitar for Admiration too.

mutant! 10-05-2005 12:10 PM

Admiwhat?

PS Hey shadow316, Incubus have a new bassist now whose style is not even remotely like Dirk's. They've chaaaaanged. (forthebetterIMHOkthxbye)

Idiot Martyr 10-05-2005 01:45 PM
Brandon probably wrote the guitar for Admiration too.
Hmm never that about that, you have a point there.

ween2424 10-05-2005 02:05 PM
Where did you hear that?
It's just an assumption. The guitar parts are so easy and Mike only plays from the bridge till the end.

Prince of Darkness 10-12-2005 12:12 PM

This is gonna sound stupid, but any news on the new album?

Alessandro 10-12-2005 02:56 PM
This is gonna sound stupid, but any news on the new album?
That doesnīt sound stupid at all. I think that Brandon writing guitar parts is what sounds pretty stupid, thatīs what it is... As for the new album, I donīt know any news.

Janitor 10-12-2005 02:57 PM
That doesnīt sound stupid at all. I think that Brandon writing guitar parts is what sounds pretty stupid,
why?

Alessandro 10-12-2005 03:05 PM
why?
I think Brandon will screw up most of Incubus songs with all those stupid chord progressions. I mean thake a look at Pantomime, what the f#ck! I donīt really think a song needs to be complex in order to sound good, but I still think Mike is the one who should be responsible for writing the guitar parts, I mean, heīs a guitarist thatīs what heīs supposed to do.

For how simple "Pantomime" is, it's still a really good song. I actually think it would be kind of cool if Brandon played a little rythem.

Skyler 10-12-2005 05:21 PM

I wish Mike and Ben would leave Incubus and start a new band where they can actually showcase their talents to full extent.

Incubus is all about Brandon now, and the record companies are exploiting that to it's full extent.

Crow Left of the Murder wasn't, but it seems like they are focusing more on Brandon now.

I have to disagree completely. If anything, the band is less about Brandon than it once was. The last album/tour had tons of focus on the instruments.
Crow Left of the Murder wasn't, but it seems like they are focusing more on Brandon now.
There's only been three songs released since that album.

Considering that ACLOTM has more solo's/instrumental breakdowns than any other album of theirs, then yes, they ARE focusing more on Brandon...

Skyler 10-12-2005 07:52 PM

I'm not talking about ACLOTM, I'm talking about what's been going on throughout the past year or so.

Idiot Martyr 10-12-2005 07:53 PM

They kind of are focusing more on Brandon, but I think that they are trying to evenly distribute the attention so to speak. Everyone gets his spotlight on Crow if you think about it. They all get to showcase their talents at some point, I'm hoping that the new album will continue in that direction.

Retrovertigo 10-12-2005 08:04 PM
I'm not talking about ACLOTM, I'm talking about what's been going on throughout the past year or so.
There's only been three songs though. Ben and Mike should quit Incubus because they don't get to show off in 3 songs they wrote for a movie?

Idiot Martyr 10-12-2005 08:13 PM

You know, despite what everyone says about the Stealth stuff, I actually enjoy listening to those three songs. I definetely think they did better with this than they did with the Spawn soundtrack.

Retrovertigo 10-12-2005 08:25 PM

I like them too. The only song I have a problem with is Neither of Us Can See. I like the song a lot, but I wish they went in a different direction after the solo. It builds up but then just dies down completely to go into another verse.
