It's really cool. Several times the past couple of weeks, I've gone there at about 1am, rented a film by myself, watched it and returned it before I go to bed. Tons of fun.
|
Nice. It sounds like something that should be put in near my house.. it would cure these long nights of boredom.
|
Yeah, it's good. All automated too - you put credit on a card and use that to open the door of the store and to pay for for the rental, and the DVD/video is brought to you on a little conveyor belt - which is cool.

That sound sounds sweet. It would make renting videos ever so much more enjoyable and less work.... I need one in my room. |
I would buy a professional studio.
|
Bartender, that sounds like a very faulty system.

It annoys me when people feel the need to express their surprise or ignorance about timezones.
Or if they find it funny. "Crap, it's ...." "Haha, it's only .... here" |
i like timezones. it's interesting. i get terribly confused though.
4.42 pm now. |
I just don't want to cause a chain reaction of times, when I tell someone what time it is.

10:40 central time
|
nice thread... just don't have the time to hang around. good idea tho.
10:40 central time
 |
It is 11:48 Eastern Standard Time.
Is that good? |
What???? I dunno what time zone you are in. |
It is 11:48 Eastern Standard Time.

You know, mocking Superpeers distaste for time zone posts would be funny if he was an ordinary peon, however his Mod status dictates that we tread lightly.

Only problem we've had so far was when the guy who puts all the discs in rental boxes put only the bonus disc in. |
mississippi can suck my left nut
|
Toronto > Mississippi
Yes, it's true :D |
Only problem we've had so far was when the guy who puts all the discs in rental boxes put only the bonus disc in.
Did you get a refund? |
Yep, we kept the bonus disc one and rented something else out for the night. Took the bonus disc back the next day, they apologised, refunded the money (as well as the £4 or so we'd spent on other films, which was nice of them)..and proceeded to put just the bonus disc back in the machine catalogue. So we tried it again, and lo and behold, just the bonus disc. Again, took it back, refund.
The jackass who works there during the daylight hours didn't realise that it doesn't matter if the disc is physically back in the machine, the computer has to have read the barcode to know it's returned. So it thought we still had it out, and charged us £1 every 6 hours for 4 days before we realised (we'd rented 5 films or so in the meantime, which should have cost about £5, but our £26.99 of credit was all gone). So we went back and complained, they returned the bonus disc properly and topped our account back up to £26.99. The upshot of all that being, we'd rented about a dozen films so far, and it hadn't cost us a damn thing. |
The only reason superpeer gets mad at timezone ignorance is because nobody else lives in Belgium.
:-* |
Isn't there like, two halves to Belgium or something? Or two cultures? Flemish and something else? (Please note I may be completely wrong and sound like an idiot, but this is sticking in my head for some reason).
|
Morning all! Who else is at work? :upset:
|

Yeah, North Belgians speak Flemish, like me. The south Belgians speak French. It's all pretty complicated. |

*is not at work*
True. |
I was at work, just got home due to neck pain from my car accident.
I may be able to stay at home and get paid. But my neck is probably killed for life. Oh well. |

Today sucks. I have to work in the shop today so I have to work an hour longer, I only get a 1/2 lunch, and I've still got my other job to go to tonight as soon as I leave here! This whole week has just sucked. I had a docters appointment yesterday and had to have some tests done. First I got the crap shocked out of my. Then I got stabbed with needles in about 8 different places in my arm. Then after the test results I found out I'm most likely going to have to have surgery on my arm. After looking at the results and telling me that, they decided to do the same test to my other arm for comparison. Turn out my other arm has the same problem, it just isn't as pronounced so I don't have symptoms in that arm...yet. So I'll probably have to have the same surgery done to both arms. I've been fighting with my medical insurance company for weeks now. I made a formal complaint to the Better Business Bureu and I'm considering talking to my attorney. And my house insurance (which is much better than my medical) is going to pay for part of muy wifes engagement ring that she lost. But because I don't have any of the original sales paperwork, they are only going to be paying for an "average" diamond. And they only pay up to $1500/item because I didn't have a seperate policy for jewelry. So the ring that I paid like $3000 for is down the drain and is going to be replaced with a ring worth half as much. [/rant] |
I thought your work had blocked MX. What's the problem with your arm(s)? (if you don't mind saying)
|
Dang that is severe suckness, on a related note I might have to get surgery on my jaw because I had braces too early and all sort of crap is gonna be messed up in my jaw when im 20. Damn orthodontist.

On a side note, you wouldn't happen to be Canadian by any chance? |
holy crap, tabcrawler got hardcore hacked

Indeed. Tis the epitome of "not funny".
I thought your work had blocked MX. What's the problem with your arm(s)? (if you don't mind saying)
Yeah they did for a long time. I don't know what happened. I just tried to get on last week and it came up. I don't know. I'm going to try not to get on too much from work though. I don't want anyone to notice and get it blocked again. As far as my arm goes...at first they thought it was carpel tunnel. But after a few doctors appointments and tests, it's a different nerve. I forget what it's called, but basically a nerve is getting pinched in my elbow and is making my hand go numb. And paranoidd...no I'm not Canadian. |
