I played Hockey for about 10 years, i loved playing it, but following national teams has never been my thing.

I have always wanted to play roller hockey but never did. there aren't any rinks in town and well it doesn't to cold here in Los Angeles. So instead of taking the roller hockey path i took aggresive skating. It lasted for a couple years too.

Also, "soccer," originally, was something different and much longer, but it just kept becoming shorter and shorter, so they ended up with "soccer" as the abbreviation.
