I made a ska song and played it with these two other guys. We have lyrics but no one's actually singing yet, seeing as how we've only practiced once. We might do it again if he buys us donuts again.
^^^^^ Viable. Sustainable. Humane.'s pretty good, I like the one guitar riff. if you put a little more of that in, maybe even with the singing, it'd be good. i like it 'cause it's a little different, but it stops too suddenly, and i miss it before it' over. Gun Powder's pretty sweet, i usually don't like changing tempos, but you made it work. The whole bridge/guitar solo type deal is awesome, but raising the bass on this track would be good, especially on the verses. almost make it like ska, but down-beat. Wouldn't that be interesting. G8 is cool, those first three chords of the 4 chord prog. are the same as a heatskores song i think... but you go back to the I on the fouth one, they go somewhere else. anyway, i like this song, but, especially the vocals, but, it's too empty. you need a bassline with more notes, or yes, horns. Say if they did what the bass was doing, and the bass played a fast bassline, tha'd be sweet. also i don;t like the muted power chords... sorry. although i like the rest of the ending. |
Thanks Man. The bass will definitely be raised on Gun Powder, and I'd like the guitar through both speakers too. Everything seems to be coming louder through the left speaker, hopefully we can get that fixed when it's mixed. I think G8 sounds empty too. The guitar only really comes through the right speaker, and I'm thinking that has something to do with it. I like the bassline because of the slapped octaves, but the lack of other notes does leave an empty feeling. As for any changes to the actual parts, I'll take them into consideration for the future, but we're done recording for now.

Thanks so much. Some of our newer stuff is really political, and really stupid.
We have a song called She's a He, about falling in love with a girl, then finding out she's a transvestite. I can post the lyrics if anyone is interested, i think they're pretty funny. |
Hahaha. I read them on your site.
A. I like the NOFX song a lot. B. What do you play in your band? |
I play bass, and sing. Since we have three singers... i sing
The Great Divide NOFX's Biggest Fan Kyle Has a Rash My Favorite Accident I'm pretty sure those are the only songs we have up that i sing. Interesting thing about that NOFX song, The intro and chorus are a direct parody of the Nofx song "The Plan".... and like the lyrics say, i really did crash my mom's brand new car while listening to Punk In Drublic. haha |
