Yea, wasn't Pinkerton voted like the worst album of '96? It's got one or two songs good on there. I like the Blue Album a lot, and the fairly new one isn't too bad.

Stratovarius is incredibly wanky though, and their singer is typically bleh.

Yeah, troublegum is brilliant.

I like everything I have heard from it, though it did take more listening than the Blue album, which was instantly catchy. I'm certainly picking up Pinkerton of one these days, though.

EDIT: to the rest of your post: I haven't heard a single positive reaction about it, except allmusic's rating. Stupid allmusic. I don't dare to go listen to it, it will shatter my Weezer dreams.
