What are your feelings on The Trial?

I really like The Trial, but one time I was listening to The Wall in my basement and I fell asleep right as The Trial started. I had horrible nightmares and I woke up right as the song ended and I was clutching my throat because I thought someone was chocking me. Other than that little incident it's been a good song though.

It's my favourite song from The Wall, and one of my all time favourite Pink Floyd songs.

It also inspired (I assume) another favourite of mine, The Chaos Path by Arcturus.

I once fell asleep to Hey You and had a really freaky dream. I can remember walking down to my bus stop the next morining and still being scared. Lesson: Don't listen to The Wall before bed. It is a really dark album though, especially the 2nd disc.

I fell asleep during Great Gig In the Sky, that was freaky.

im so pissed, i lost a LOT of my floyd on my computer, like 5-6 of my studio albums, and about 30 of my Floyd bootlegs, :(.

I can never totally fall asleep to DSOTM, although I'm sure I've listened to it as I'm laying in bed at night hundreds (dozens?) of times. I sort of just go into a trance-like state where my dreams and the music seem to melt together...I am always aware of when the album ends though, so I'm pretty sure I'm not fully asleep.

That sucks about your albums, maybe you should look into investing in hard copies (either bought or burned) of their albums...in case it happens again.

I've fallen asleep to Floyd many times, but I've never been worse for the wear.

One really freaky thing is listening to Careful With That Axe Eugene when your really stoned, I mean the song while sober is already pretty freaky.

No, there is nothing weird about a song that includes a guy wrecking his hotel room/experiencing a mental breakdown. :confused:

I love the bit in [b]One of my Turns[/b] when he goes crazy. The only bit that grates is the annoying chick at the start with that (I assume) fake american accent. But I guess we all know it death by now. And I've never fallen asleep to any floyd.

Is A Nice Pair that rare on vinyl? I've seen that for a few euros on ebay (the Belgian site, that is)...

I can't fall asleep to music, but even if I did, I don't think it would affect my dreams very much.

Well it should be here within a week, maybe a less...I am off to the record store, (cds also) if there are any Pink Floyd albums, I might snag em. Later guys.

Nice usertitle Med, Love references are the way to go. Although I've only had one during my time on MX it was a good usertitle.

Sometimes if my mind is restless, I'll put on some soft jazz, or [I]Classical Moods[/I]. Generally it helps in desperate time, but that sort of thing doesn't affect my dreams. [I]Dark Side...[/I] is the only Floyd I think I'd really be able ot sleep to.

While camping I fell asleep listening to the slide guitar in High Hopes and hand a cool dream about my tent flying but other than that I've never fallen asleep to them.

my weirdest dream was probbaly the one where i was flying on the back on the pig from Animals listening to Dogs, that was ****ing weird.

This is sort of out there, but has anyone here looked into lucid dreaming and that sort of thing? I read up on it once and tried a couple of things but never really got anywhere with it. I'm still really skeptical about it, but I don't want to shoot it down altogether without at least experimenting around with the idea a little more.

Thanks, I find stuff like that really cool, even if I don't belive it all. I'm not saying I don't belive in lucid dreaming, I think its possible just a lot of that new age energy stuff is weird, cool but weird.

I've been obsessed with that song A Saucerful of Secrets this past week, I just love how unorganized and loose the jam is, and how nothing they are playing is making any sense at all, but then at the end it just sort of comes together and then Dave starts with his droning vocal's its such a great song.

I've had many lucid dreams, happens every once in awhile. It's really cool, you can do [I]anything[/I]. I can't believe none of you have ever been on one.
