Uh, Versions is good, Brian and Brandon. Not as good as YCBY, but it's an alright album. Some of that stuff would be siq live, especially "Prematurito El Baby" or "Composer Meet Corpse." They're a great live band either way.
i wasnt saying its not good

id just rather hear them play a lot of sick old tunes

cbmartinez 08-12-2007 12:14 AM

I guess. "Artist's Rendering" was awesome live because of the chant but the material on their last two albums is way cooler live.

I haven't listened to it enough. I liked the songs when they played them live, I just didn't know them.

B 08-12-2007 01:12 PM

I haven't even had the chance to sit and listen to versions all the way through yet so idk.

a lot of songs off of ycby would be sick live probably

I made a quick post in the community thread about this, but...

Tonight I saw Fall Out Boy play a secret show in a 300 person capacity room. They played under the name "Schrute Farms"

The show was a fucking blast. Seriously one of the most fun nights of my life. Fall Out Boy - 15,000 scream 12-year-olds + stage dives = amazing.

Anyway...

Four Year Strong opened the show. They were sweet, but only a fraction of the people knew them. Nothing real notable, but definitely a sweet band, and one to watch out for in the future.

Fall Out Boy, or "Schrute Farms", played next. They only played songs from Take This To Your Grave (+a Pantera cover, featuring Keith from ETID). Basically, it was a night of stage dives, singalongs, and general insanity. I came home covered in sweat, mixed with a little blood, tears, and cake frosting.

Good times.

Edit - As a side note, I saw them last night in Rochester, at an arena, playing mostly new songs. No comparison.

Hey guys,

so I went to NOFX last friday for the first time ever. They've come here several times before but the last time was in 2003 and I couldn't go.

The sound was great, the jokes too, but Melvin had diarrhea (or so they said) and you could see he was pretty sick, he even puked several times and left the show in ambulance but he played for almost the whole 2 hours the show lasted.

Anyway the playlist was pretty good, but for one thing it was the best show I've ever been to.

Fat Mike said after they had played like 4 songs: Do you know how long have we been coming to spain? It's been 18 years coming here to play shows. And this song is also 18. And so they played The Decline. All of it! It was incredible. I can't even express the feeling you get when you are there with a band playing live your favorite song ever... So yeah, first time I see NOFX and they play The Decline, f'ucking awesome. Also, here's the playlist:

The Decline (duh)
Dinosaurs Will Die
Franco Un-American
Don’t Call Me White
Stickin In My Eye
Whoops I OD’d
No Woman No Cry
Bottles To The Ground
Linoleum
Bob
The Brews
Leave It Alone
Perfect Government
All His Suits Are Torn
Straight Edge
Kill All The White Men
Eat The Meek
Radio
Seeing Double At The Triple Rock
I’m Telling Tim
Murder The Government
What Now My Love
Leaving Jesusland

Hands down my favorite "up and coming" band. Rise Or Dying Trying is an awesome album. Almost worth the price of a ticket to the FFTL show to see Four Year Strong open and then book out of there.

3 gigs, 3 days.

Friday night my band played in The Orange Box, in Yeovil.
http://www.myspace.com/hiahs
We were ok, but hardly anyone turned up, we had another ska band supporting us, they're really fun, but they're not very good, but always a good laugh. I wouldn't pay to see them. Good thing we didn't have to.

Saturday night my band played again in one of the local pubs, a lot of people were there and I was assuming pub gigs weren't going to be very good, but a lot of friends turned up and it was great fun.

Sunday night my band played again, with Chase Long Beach and Fandangle.
The first band on were Remains and they were terrible, the singer had the worst haircut I have ever seen, and the worst arrangements of clothes aswell.
The second band were an all girl band Electric Ladyland and they were pretty good, but they had a missing member and a new drummer, meaning all their drum parts were boring as hell, and their songs didn't have much variation, but their singing had real tight harmonies and that was good.
The we came on and everyone loved us. Heroes In A Half-Shell everyone.
The band on afterwards were The Mirettes and they were pretty good, played well, but they lacked something I can't say what. And they played Rhianna - Umbrella, which made me want to die.
Chase Long Beach were frickin awesome. Their horn section was so tight and just amazing. Loved them.
Fandangle are so great. The singer had a bad leg so he had to sit down and play/sing. They were awesome. Made everyone do the hoe down during one song, it was great. Real good fun.
AWESOME NIGHT.

Fish 12-04-2007 07:42 PM

my band opened up for the flatliners last saturday, and now they are going on tour with NOFX. I almost feel famous... almost...

RissaPoodle 12-08-2007 11:17 AM

Tonight I'm headed to Pittsburgh to see Brand New, Thrice and mewithoutyou. It'll be my first time seeing mewithoutyou, my second time seeing Thrice and my fourth time seeing Brand New.

Firecracker 12-10-2007 03:35 AM

Good job.
Good lineup.
Good times.

B 12-12-2007 04:41 PM

mwy is sick

cbmartinez 12-12-2007 09:19 PM

I saw Brand New a couple nights ago but missed both bands that I wanted to see (thrice and mwy), so it totally sucked.

Play Crack The Sky
Sic Transit
Luca
Millstone
Limousine
Sowing Season
You Won't Know
Jesus Christ
I Believe You But My Tommy Gun Don't
Degausser

I only got their albums after I saw them but that's what I know they played, nothing else from DE but prob a couple more from The Devil And God. Nothing from YFW

I'm going to see Coheed, Shiny toy guns, The Starting Line, and Jimmy eat world this weekend.

First time for all of those bands, I've heard good things.

yeaah coheed is such a good live band, really good for big venues and festivals too which is brilliant. jimmy i love but didn't dig too much last time i saw them (i was sleep deprived, it was main stage of reading fest, bound to be bad). the starting line i haven't seen for years....didn't know they were still going!

tonight i went to see the slackers. SUCH a good band. mmm glen and vic's voices are just awesome together. ahhh i love that band!

Regards 12-14-2007 05:25 AM

i saw that show

what did you think

and how was TSL?

Regards 12-26-2007 05:44 PM

I thought it was a good show actually, I mean take away the 5billion pre-teen girls that were there to see TBS and I thought it was quite good. Armor for Sleep was meh, UnderOAth was phenominal, and Taking Back Sunday was suprisingly good, I really wish I could've seen TBS pre- Louder Now.

TSL was alright. Is the lead singer double jointed in his elbows or something? Becuase whenever he reached out his elbows bent in, and it was wierd.

Urbreathsmells 12-28-2007 10:13 AM

it's been a while since I've gone to a show since I've been so busy with school and such, last concert I saw was The Recieving End of Sirens headlining and playing with Envy on the Coast and a few other bands back in October. The show was so good, Envy on the Coast really are amazing live and they never seem to **** up a note or lyric. TREOS really did put up an amazing show and I never heard of them prior to the gig.

Regards 12-28-2007 03:46 PM

I heard TREOS put on a really good show.

Emery, Mayday Parade, As Cities Burn, Pierce the Veil, and Cry of the Afflicted are all going on tour. I really want to see ACB, and Emery is great live.

Mute Print 12-28-2007 04:02 PM

I've seen TREOS four times. They've been kind of hit or miss. A couple time they were great, and a couple times they were kind of boring. I think it kind of depended on what kind of setlist they played.

it was mixed from new things to old. The show was in the city so the crowds always awesome.

cbmartinez 12-29-2007 11:13 AM
