Which albums were Tim Owen on ?
|
Jugulator and Demolition. I wouldn't recommend them though.
|
Oh ok...I might get Painkiller but besides that I'm not too interested in geting anything else.
Whats wrong with both those albums though ? |
They aren't very good. Jugulator was a poor attempt of showing everyone that Tim could do what Halford does and Demolition wasn't Priest like at all. It's not Tim's singing that's the problem, the songwriting is so immature and weak that it is an insult to the other albums.

Demolition is pretty awful, alright. More repulsive than even Turbo, in my opinion. at NisseBagare's avatar |
Jugulator isn't too bad, really.
*looks up* WTF Turbo Lover I can understand, but Some Heads Are Gonna Roll?! That song is one of the best on the album, what's wrong with you?
It's quite clearly Turbo Lover and Locked In.... |
Jugulator just sounds really weak to me. I've only listened to it once, so I can't say its the end all opinion.
The Live album is okay with Tim though. And Riva, your version of Living after Midnight is different from the US version apparently. |
When I get home from Uni I'll recheck the CD.

Wow, that Living after Midnight is completely different from my version. It's a hell of a lot better as well.
|
Anyone hear that their new album is a concept album about the life of Nostradamus?
I've heard about this. Hopefully it means their lyrics will improve :( |
Problem solved. I don't have Hot Rockin' on my release.
|
I've heard about this. Hopefully it means their lyrics will improve :(
It's a well known fact that Priest's lyrics are perfect. It's all about the choruses, and how can you beat Exciter, One Shot At Glory and You've Got Another Thing Comin'? You can't! |
It's the verses that have us all cringing from time to time.
|
It's on AOR I was mostly refering to.
One Shot At Glory is teh pwn |
Only a few songs make me do that, but I can deal with it.
Speaking of questionable quality lyrics: NP: You Don't Have to be Old to be Wise |

Speaking of questionable quality lyrics: NP: You Don't Have to be Old to be Wise
Nice dodgy-lyric choice! Eat Me Alive has probably got worse ones tho' :p |
They can't touch Halford's solo work though. Listen to Locked and Loaded for the worst concealed sexual innuendo I've ever heard.

You guys want barely contained homoerotic lyrical content?
8. All The Way Alright baby. You know how to have a good time don't cha It's the way you stand You're always attracting attention Now with your hands on your hips, and a Snarl on your lips Your eyes wore the look of danger There's a lion in your heart, That's set to quick start, To a glance from any stranger You give as good as you get No one's beat you yet You take the lead You never need You know all the moves you've got to make You take it all, you take it all the way Ya never do things by half You're a man with a reputation You never shy when the problems fly You can cope with any situation You take the wheel and crack the whip You never slip You rule the roost You always boast Yeah you're lookin' after number one You take it all, you take it all the way
Awesome song, btw. |

It's about a man, for goodness sake!

Awesome song, btw.
I thought you hated Point of Entry? That album title is innuendo in itself. |
I bought Stained Class the other day and it's excellent! Am I the only one who thinks Priests live versions of their early stuff is loads better than on the studio albums? Exciter on Unleashed in the East is so much better than the Stained Class version.
|
Unleased in the East blows away the early studio albums... Tyrant is crap in the studio but live it kicks *** as a matter of fact... here is the track list:
Exciter Running Wild Sinner The Ripper The Green Manalishi Diamonds And Rust Victim Of Changes Genocide Tyrant Rock Forever Delivering The Goods Hell Bent For Leather Starbreaker The live version of every song on here is beeter than the studio version. Les Binks sounds real good live too |
Yeah i reckon pretty much everything on Unleashed sounds loads better than the studio stuff. Shame stuff like Tyrant and Exciter doesn't get played too often these days.
|
Halford's Live Insurrection album actually included some great old JP songs:
Stained Class Running Wild Genocide Beyond The Realms Of Death Tyrant I also saw Fight (Halford's first solo project after Priest) and they played Exciter live. |

Unleashed in the East is impossibly good. Stained Class is amazing as well, minus the guitar tone.
|
I thought you hated Point of Entry?
That album title is innuendo in itself.
I think it's poor, but it has highlights. Turbo is the only album that I pretty much dislike all the way through. |
"Electric Eye" is one of my favorite Priest songs. Does anyone else agree with me that it's one of Judas Priest's best?
