OI! to the World! 02-02-2005 11:02 PM
I posted links to that kindof stuff a coupel links up.

and to the annoying poster with liberty spikes. one word. Soap.
When I spike my hair I use soap but my hair is real bushy and kinda curly so sometimes after a show it looks lke my head exploded.

TheNowhereman42 02-02-2005 11:16 PM

worked well on my hair. I used to have 7 inch spikes.

But mines pretty straight, I get mistaken for Asian alot.

If I was going to use leather paint to stencil something onto my jacket, is there anything else I would need to do? Would I need primer or finish or anything like that?

i would make just a square stencil as big as your other one, and spray it with primer

MechanicalClockworkOrgy 02-06-2005 12:40 PM

how do you guys make demo tapes and cds?

our band tapes it with two microphones on a tape deck, and then we stream it into mp3s, any other methods?

4skin 02-06-2005 06:33 PM

we use a microphone and record onto my mates dads laptop

Go back a few pages, it's been said numerous times in here.

Anti-Prefix 02-06-2005 07:13 PM

What's the best way to put studs on a jean jacket?

Brain Toad 02-06-2005 07:16 PM

Push them through with your hand, and use a knife or other flat metal object to bend the prongs. You can also buy an awl from studsandspikes.com: http://www.studsandspikes.com/store/product_info.php?cPath=57_74&products_id=398

Anti-Prefix 02-06-2005 07:37 PM

Perfect, thanks toad.

Nihilism'99 02-06-2005 07:43 PM

A dart works like magic. I just studded me jacket theres like 350 on it.

Anti-Prefix 02-06-2005 07:48 PM

Dart = Good Idea

That's a good idea. I don't have that many studs though I just use the ones that fall off my belt from time to time haha. I'm looking for a place to either purchase them or wait for enough to fall off my belt.

Brain Toad 02-06-2005 07:58 PM

I buy mine from http://www.angryyoungandpoor.com but studsandspikes is also good.

AndreTheHyena 02-07-2005 06:42 AM

I steal those crappy 3-row bonded leather belts and then just pull all the studs off with needle-nosed pliars, which also work well to put them on shit.

Major General Despair 02-07-2005 07:39 PM

Two more questions, sort of similar to my first.
Does spray paint work on leather, or should I not be a cheap bastard and go buy some leather paint?
Is there an easy way to put patches on leather? I imagine sewing something onto leather would be a pain..

me likes punk 02-07-2005 07:47 PM

sewing machines work

honkybrewster 02-07-2005 07:54 PM

Really? It seems like the leather's so thick it would fuck up the needle.

it worked on mine but it went pretty slow on some parts
beats hand sewing

it works, i know someone who painted his jacket with spray, but the paint might crack off after a while.

Also, pretty much any cheap *** pocket knife you buy will also come with an awl or a leather punch.

honkybrewster 02-08-2005 08:54 AM

I used those paint markers you can find in the crafts section at Wal-Mart, and it chipped off pretty badly after just one show. Is there a better type of paint marker for this?
