Any time you have a pagan black metal band that covers Norse / Germanic mythology, which is probably the better part of that kind of BM, elves are usually part of the deal because the Western idea of elves today comes directly out of Germanic pagan lore. Elves, giants and dwarves were very important for explaining the forces of nature back then.

(Slavonic and Celtic pagan black metal probably also accounts for a lot these days though)
