She actually reads posts I make here. Sometimes she'll ask me about it. So I always try to keep it civilised, just in case. :D
My gf knows of this site but I think (read: hope) that she doesn't read what I say about her (although I really haven't talked about her in a while).
She's strong though, she'd hit me. Definitely the strongest girl I know, she beats me in all the sports. Except pub sports.
I'm revoking your manship (manhood?).

Steerpike 01-16-2006 03:11 PM
You need to find the girl that suits you, I think it's necessary to have some things in common.
I'm aware of all of this, and I know it's not going to be easy. I'm fully willing to make the effort, but everyone has to draw their line somewhere.

Say for example on the topic of going out to eat. If I don't have the money that week, rather than just blowing the whole thing off, I come up with an alternative. I met invite her to my house and I'll cook for us. There's a nice park within walking distance. I can pack a light dinner for us and we can sit at a nice look-out point watching the sunset listening to Blackmore's Night.

Just because I have to draw limits doesn't mean I can't still put in the effort.

Like I said, this is not going to be easy. But no matter what the outcome, whether it succeeds or whether it fails and I have to move on, I'm confident that I'll handle it.
Yeah, turn or disable all Plugins on WMP and it rips CDs in about a minute, obviously depending on length.
Does last.fm have much effect on speed?

I've never noticed anything, but I use iTunes.

Amit 01-16-2006 03:13 PM
Does last.fm have much effect on speed?
Nope.

Just use a different ripper program.
Does last.fm have much effect on speed?
Plugins ruined my WMP, I have to use ITunes now!

I still use WMP for ripping stuff though, just go "Tools: Plugins: Options: Background" and then disable whatever plugins you have installed, this should speed it up.

gmoneyguy 01-16-2006 03:14 PM
I've never noticed anything, but I use iTunes.
Ill just try a different medium the next time I rip a CD.

Amit 01-16-2006 03:15 PM

Why don't you use Winamp?

gmoneyguy 01-16-2006 03:16 PM

my WMP just sucks at ripping CDs.

I still remember when I just started dating girls and all, I was very ignorant towards my self en very unrealistic.
I'dd spend all my time on this girl assuming this relationship would last for the rest of our lifes (lol)
After having dated more often I saw that most girls aren't forever.
Then I was without a girl for a bit over a year.
Now I got a GF again, and I've been keeping quite some distance, and not being so crazy about her (doing stuff and all) as I was in previous relationships.
Music isn't a too big Item for her, but for me it is.
So she should respect that
and she should respect that I have band practice every week, and visit a lot of gigs and festivals, as well as play a lot of music my self.
I'm glad she doesn't mind, we both need enough time for ourselfs.
I'm really glad I met her.

I see this relationship as the best relationship I've had so far.
we respect eachother, and leave eachother enough room to persue own hobbies, but we have enough things in common as well.

damn, what a long post, anyways, my thoughts on the business ;p

kurrpt 01-16-2006 03:16 PM

i think its funny most people's idea of a "romantic evening" ALWAYS has like some band, or song title listed in the post

PRICELESS
Why don't you use Winamp?
Lord Abortion 01-16-2006 03:18 PM

When I find a girl who wants to make out to Iron Maiden, then I'm gluing myself to her.

Amit 01-16-2006 03:20 PM

ewww

gmoneyguy 01-16-2006 03:20 PM

I did makeout to The Mars Volta once.

/somewhat random and had nothing to do with Iron Maiden.

the2stranger 01-16-2006 03:20 PM

It was a furious and enjoyable night

to me, the music choice is really irrelavent, cause to have a romantic evening, it would have to be something BOTH parties can enjoy.

Like, you would see my listing "mariah carey - blah blah blah" cause obviously, i wouldnt be into that. Conversely Nevermore - ALBUM is not something up her alley...

but yea, i guess i could live with some Prince, since shes REALLY into that, but the whole Prince being pseudo-gay looking REALLY wouldnt help me get into the mood. Just confuses the "johnson" i guess

Amit 01-16-2006 03:26 PM

wtf prince gets more women than everyone else in the world

mad respect to that gangsta

gmoneyguy 01-16-2006 03:26 PM

Do you mean John Coltrane's "Giant Steps"?

italic zero 01-16-2006 03:27 PM

What's up with the second X chromosome inhibiting good music taste?

TheDMV 01-16-2006 03:27 PM

My old girlfriend knew little about my music. She once asked me what stuff I was listening to and I said Rage Against the Machine, Miles Davis, George Thorogood and she replied: Who?
