Thanks for that list, Lee. I've been looking for some good, melodic, and "old school" sounding power metal and found it in Tad Morose's [i]Modus Vivendi[/i]. Also enjoying Machine Men's [i]Circus of Fools[/i].

Circus of Fools is quality, but Modus is killer.

I like the Machine Men singer. Sounds like a metal version of Geddy Lee.

I get more of a Dickinson vibe.

I just found myself visiting here less and less often. I couldn't relate to the direction the place was taking where every thread seemed to be a postcount +1 whorehouse.

The magic's picking up. With the winter season and the recession, people got a little spooked and the industry experienced a lean year. I'm actually getting content on my website as well.

My personal favorite is One Step Beyond.

A lot of people like A Rise To Power.

Resurrection and The Final Chapter are also good.


But I would recommend OSB to start with.

So I just realized there is two new (sort of) Iced Earth albums I don't have. I feel ashamed. Jon Schaffer just absolutely rocks my world.

I realized I haven't listened to power metal since I saw Sonata Arctica for free in September. And I'm going to see Nightwish on Saturday.
