Is the new one any good?
They have a new one? What's the title? |
I haven't heard it. I'm not too into them. "Fun" isn't a big word in my musical vocabulary. But I do like Out Of The Shadow.

I might get that. |
Well fun, but catchy too.
Yeah, that's the other word I'm unreasonably averse to. |
Unknown Instructors-The Way Things Work
Joe Baiza of Saccharine Trust, Mike Watt and some other random people make good music together. |
They're abrasive, atonal and painfully depressing.
Actually been listening to some String Quartet Tributes (especially Muse and Mars Volta) really adds a new scope on the records, and breathes new life.
Really need to get their cover of OK Computer. Wonder how they would do Kid A? |
I like the Sonic Youth String Quartet Tribute alot.
|
Wow, of what album?
Edit: Is that just of one album, or of select songs. As the Mars Volta tribute is of just De-loused. |
Emo kid.
Hey, you watch your fucking mouth, kid! Nah just kidding. I hate emo though. I find anything that can even be remotely classified as "emo-ish" totally unlistenable. |
I think its an album, i found it on myspace once, but it sees to have dissapeard.

Holy f*ckin' sh*t sticks. IDIOTEQUE...I dare to think what it would sound like, but i'm getting that right now. |
It's recently occurred to me that Iron & Wine is pretty fucking sweet.
Plus, the new albums my Thrice and Propagandhi are just plain superb, even the alt/indie likes would enjoy them. |
Thrice new album is my top pick of the year. F*cking class album.
Propagandhi tho, I really didn't find anything in it to make me groove. It just didn't light any fuses for me, I found it too boring. Lyrics were good tho, of what I read. That's the only positive thing I can say about it, oh and I guess i've heard worse. |
Iron & Wine are, in fact, amazing. I've only heard the single from the new Propagandhi, but I liked it and I definitely need to check out that album. Couldn't care less about Thrice, though.

Vheissu is really not conventional Thrice man, check it out. You will probably be pleasently surprised. 3 of my friends utterly despised Thrice prior to the release of Vheissu and now absolutely love them. It's acted as a segway to most of their other stuff. Vheissu is so great. |
I suppose I should give it a shot, but their old stuff didn't appeal to me at all.
|
Have you gotten a chance to listen to it on better speakers? If so, what do you think?
Yeah, I did. I like it. It's quite different to a lot of the stuff I usually listen to. Bearing in mind that I've still only listened to it twice, I found some little bits and pieces slightly annoying at first. But even by the second listen I have become accustomed to the sometimes strange sounds. It makes an interesting listen. The length is perfect too. I can definitely see myself listening to it again. |

Halo Benders(Doug Martsch + Calvin Johnson)
Stars(songs from Heart) Get Up Kids live |
So... has everyone (who likes them) heard new Lightning Bolt yet? Yes? isn't it just so juicy? good stuff team, good stuff.
I watched Under Blackpool Lights again the other day, and boy, aren't those two Whites great. I just can't wait to see Cannon played live man, I just can't wait. I've developed a large boner for Prefuse 73, I reckon that dude could make the perfect soundtrack to a skating video. Him, TVoTR and Mastodon. righteous! |
Yeah the new Lightning Bolt is badass. I'm listening to The Books right now.
|
The Books make me laugh. It's a good laugh, but it's still a laugh.
