Did you Guys Know That The Album "Kill Em All" was Recorded In 17 Days

I think Thats Good For Such A Great Album

well see what happens is they were all ready. they new all of their songs that they wanted to record when they first walked into the studio. they only reason st anger took so long is because they went into the studios with absolutely no work done.

MoX_KIll 02-02-2005 09:33 PM

Disposable Heros
Battery
and Hit the lights

JACKROXYOU 02-02-2005 09:35 PM

disposable ive listened to so many times

but battery is really catchy

metal_milita 02-02-2005 09:43 PM
well...here are my 18 for a cd (not in my fav order, but would make a good cd)

1) Battery
2) Master of Puppets
3) Ride the Lightning
4) The Four Horsemen
5) Fade to Black
6) ...And Justice for All
7) Enter Sandman
8) One
9) Creeping Death
10) Nothing Else Matters
11) Sanitarium
12) Sad But True
13) For Whom the Bell Tolls
14) Disposable Heros
15) Fight Fire with Fire
16) Harvester of Sorrow
17) Seek and Destroy
18) Call of the Ktulu

it's ok, the first ones are good and i like the end, but i was on the phone and thinking of this at the same time
No Blackened? Dyers Eve? Good list, and actually its hard to replace any of the songs with those. I would consider trading NOM (2 slowish songs already) and Enter Sandman for one. Or even Sad But True for "To Live is to Die"

JACKROXYOU 02-02-2005 09:47 PM

put enter sandman for one?!?!

how bout you trade nem for trapped under ice or escape

Well, as I am new here and was not here to experience all 493 pages of metallica stuff I am going to post this I am sorry if there is already a post like it. Well I have just started to learn some of the metallica Solo's but they seem all over the place and wacky some of the "cords" don't seem right, does any one have any ideas about the solo in Blitzkrieg, I would really like to learn how to play solo's good,if any has any suggestions on how to learn solo's quick and painless as possible please tell me! any way is better then no way, I know a few solo's and metallica has some of the best solo's out there from what I like for music. I have been playing guitar for about two years and have really fast fingers but the solo's seem all jumbled up all over the place.... Thanks to all replies in advance

the best way to find out what james is playing during solos is to buy the music books. when i was recording sanitarium myself i had no idea what to play during the solos. the book tells you what riffs to play when

get like the real album ones tho, don't get like "ledgedary guitar riffs: Metallica" or stuff like that

MoX_KIll 02-02-2005 11:13 PM

What are your thoughts on the Metallica Based Video game ?

Huber 02-02-2005 11:16 PM

Is there some kind of demo for it? I think it's gunna be just some other game with the name Metallica on it.

Freezing Moon 02-02-2005 11:16 PM
What are your thoughts on the Metallica Based Video game ?
That could be sweet, or completly lame, depending on how they do it. Link to information?

It sounds like a money-making scam or something to me.

MoX_KIll 02-02-2005 11:23 PM

Some Kind of Ignorance

Metallica is the f--king orignal, first and last, best and brightest. But what the hell. I know this is old news and all but Jason getting the shaft. Thats some bullsh-t! He is the number one bassist in the f--king free world! Just listen to that riff in "The God That Failed" tell me that isnt one of the best riffs you've ever heard. That new guy is alright but, I aint going to wait in line to get Metallica tickets to see that guy. I want Jason!

God Bless You, Jason,

VHRocks

P.S. "Some Kind of Monster" is the f--king bomb! Kill'em All!

Actually, that isn't one of the best riffs I've heard. Far from it.

I've read two of that guys posts.. He thinks he knows everything about music. In The Black Sabbath thread he said 'Tony Iommi and Randy Rhoads are the best guitarists ever'

The God tha Failed isn't the best riff ever. Not by a long shot.

I think a couple IMO's here and there would really help save his reputation..then again he only has 17 posts so what's to save?

Randy Rhoads and Iommi kick major ass, but i wouldn't call them the best.

and no, it's far from the best. i'd say the best riff was the entire MOP intro or fade to black

You could like be there manager, expect somewhat them too. You buy their guitars and clothes n shit. You manage their tours and their groupies and their equipment. Then you control the studio, and you hold back production of St. Anger

lol thanks. i think i'd finally put out the greatest hits cd

and i'd make arthritis illegal, so now kirk can play forever

Joe 02-03-2005 02:53 PM

see this is the thing with this thread. it's the one i post in the most and there's only 5 or 6 regular posters and they're never on. the RM community theres always ppl talking and here im just kinda bored...

Leper 02-03-2005 02:55 PM

Ya a greatest hits cd would be sweet, tho there'd definitely be huge descrepancies over the songs on it. It'd have to be 2 maybe even 3 discs.

Joe 02-03-2005 02:55 PM

Oh yea. I'd expect a four cd set

Mister_Che 02-03-2005 03:09 PM

You people are insane. I'd say 4 and a half with the other half being a DVD.

Huber 02-03-2005 03:10 PM

They might as well just re-release KEA, RTL, MOP, and AJFA in the same set. I'm not saying that there isn't any better Metallica, but that's what people would cut it down too.

S&M is good enough for me right now.

Joe 02-03-2005 03:13 PM

Ok here's what it should be

3 CD's of hits, all of the cds.
1 DVD of music videos
1 DVD of Cliff footage
1 DVD of post-Cliff footage

and then a bigass poster with a 30 page color booklet

Mister_Che 02-03-2005 03:21 PM
and then a bigass poster with a 30 page color booklet
You do mean 300 right? And it shoudl be a book, not a booklet. :thumb:

Leper 02-03-2005 03:21 PM

Ya but if we're gonna logically consider this we have to think of what Metallica considers as their best material. We all love Kill em All on this forum but does Metallica consider it some of their best material? Who knows, but what i do know is that when I went to see them in concert, much to my dismay, they ignored KEA entirely. I know in other sets they added in some KEA here and there, but this is why i think that realistically Metallica probably wouldn't consider more than 2 or maybe 3 discs for a greatest hits album. I would love to see more, but IMO it would be 2 or 3.
