The Cramps - Songs The Lord Taught Us

I dunno how to exactly describe The Cramps. Greasy, bluesy, rockabilly garage punk.
Yeah, that album is amazing.

Jawaharal 02-01-2006 03:25 PM

godheadSilo has to be the most boring band ever.

YDload 02-01-2006 03:39 PM
The Dresden Dolls are one of the best bands of this decade in my opinion...if anyone can tell me more bands that use imagery that's different and unique to them, tell me right away.
You mean like anything Cedric Bixler does? Or does it have to be imagery that other people can acutally understand?

Little Man being Erased 02-01-2006 04:36 PM

Really starting to get into Eels - Electro-Shock Blues.

NineBitFable 02-01-2006 04:42 PM
You could always check out Toby Driver's solo album because that's what I'm digging at the moment. Yay, for more ambience.
Not something I can listen to often... But when I'm in the Toby Driver's solo album sort of mood, Toby Driver's solo album hits the freakin' spottttttt.

I've been diggin':

random Elliott Smith songs
some good ol' post-y metal by Minsk and 5ive
Deltron 3030 and/or random Del songs
Peter Griffin's cover of Rock Lobster
various Katamari Damacy songs

yay

Jawaharal 02-01-2006 04:51 PM

Quincy Jones is so darn good. Soul Bossa Nova is the best mojo song ever.

Mattfanatic 02-01-2006 05:24 PM

a mix of all the actually good elliott smith demos and rare tracks

angel in the snow

He also wrote what is arguably the greatest theme song in all of television: Sanford and Son. I can put that on my iPod and just walk around all day with it on repeat and feel great :):(

Eagles Of Death Metal - Death By Sexy
Nujabes - Metaphorical Music
The Jesus Lizard - Liar

Death By Sexy is a lot of fun. I'm not sure if I like it as much as Peace Love Death Metal yet.

Tangy zizzle 02-01-2006 08:02 PM

Deerhoof
Cat Power
Bruce Springsteen - Nebraska. Such a good album this.

Nation of Ulysses - Plays Pretty For Baby

Incredible album. I just downloaded it yesterday, but now I'm going to buy it purely for the cover art. And because it rocks.

ATM 02-01-2006 08:29 PM

If you hypothetically had that, could you hypothetically send it to baerwitness at yahoo dot com.

Dog 02-01-2006 09:07 PM

Alright, just sent it.

Hypothetically I mean.

ATM 02-01-2006 09:08 PM

Kayo Dot - Choirs Of The Eye
Goldfrapp - Supernature
Cannibal Corpse - The Bleeding
Death Cab For Cutie - You Can Play These Songs With Chords
Xiu Xiu - Fabulous Muscles

Hmm...interesting combo.

Anti-Prefix 02-02-2006 05:18 AM

Page France, Sufjan Stevens, Silver Jews, The Anniversary (Designing), and some other stuff.

Bukowski 02-02-2006 01:42 PM

Grandaddy - Under the Western Freeway
Modest Mouse - Moon and Antarctica
Gogol Bordello - Gypsy Punks: Underdog World Strike
Flipper - Sex Bomb Baby

Man oh man, that Grandaddy is good. I shall need to get some more of their albums - I feel another Mew style obsession coming on...

YDload 02-02-2006 01:53 PM

Wow, I can hardly remember the last time a band has immediately captured my attention and infatuation like Dinosaur Jr. has. The only album I've gotten to hear is their best-of collection Ear Bleeding Country, but I guess it's fine because I never would have known where to start anyway. The two best songs on it are both from Green Mind, which is after their supposedly best three albums, but I like most of the other songs too.

Bukowski 02-02-2006 01:57 PM

Yeah, Dino Jr. are a great band. I highly recommend the album You're Living All over Me next, if you're planning to check out more of their stuff.

YDload 02-02-2006 02:05 PM

Everyone says "Freak Scene" is like the best song, but I just think it's merely "good." Check out bread_man's review to see what tracks are on the best-of.

Japanese Policeman 02-02-2006 02:15 PM

I'm really enjoying Nick Drake right now. This suicide trend among great solo artists really bugs me.

BillCosby 02-02-2006 02:21 PM

Richard Hell & the Voidoids - Blank Generation

Mattfanatic 02-02-2006 02:22 PM

it's not a trend really. but yeah Nick Drake is sweet

2muchket! 02-02-2006 02:30 PM

Arctic Monkeys Whatever you say I am, Thats what I am not - The whole album is amazing.

asdf 02-02-2006 03:11 PM

Digging a lot of Estradasphere, because some friends of mine and I want to play a song of theirs in our school variety show.

It's not likely to happen (seeing as we can't find a good guitarist who wants to do it) but I'm still excited about the possibility.

pixiesfanyo 02-02-2006 03:45 PM

The Murder of Rosa Luxemburg - Everyones in Love and Flowers Pick Themselves

Good "blood brothery" post-hardcore. Complex alot and good. I enjoy.
