Nevermind...I read the article I linked everyone to when I was half asleep, and I missed the part that said it's only HDADs, a mix between a DVD-A and a normal DVD can play on everything.

denboy 12-28-2005 01:26 PM
That can't be right, because I have the In Absentia DVD, it's a DVD-A, and it only works on my DVD player on my TV, not the one on my computer...and the TV one says DVD-A compatible while the computer doesn't....

Well, I don't know anything about technology. Whatever.
The DVD-A of IA plays on my non DVD-A dvd player. and my computer.. Maybe your computer is just messed up?

Shadius 12-28-2005 03:23 PM

Man. I just managed to get the live cover of Soldier of Fortune by Deep Purple they did; it's decent. The mp3 I have though, he's talking at the end, and it goes onto him announcing playing Face of Melinda and then get's cut off. This implies to me that the entire show must have been recorded, that means Benighted, To Bid You Farewell, and Face of Melinda, all live, as well as the Damnation set and Harvest, just what Lamentations should have been like! *heart flutters*

Does anyone know where I could get a hold of them? I've been searching.. but need I help, I used Limewire to get that one mp3, luckily.

Blanka Flip 12-28-2005 10:34 PM

Quick question guys. Sorry if you've been asked, I've been so busy lately. Is Lopez back playing yet? I hope to catch the whole REAL Opeth onthis 06 tour!

Deth 12-28-2005 10:36 PM

I don't think so. I would have thought that they would have announced it.

Hells Bells 12-28-2005 11:21 PM

Even if he had have gotten better, I wouldn't expect to see him on this tour. Touring is very demanding, and he probably wouldn't handle it well after recovering from something like that.

Killtacular 12-29-2005 12:33 AM

Is it just me, or is the light set from Lamentations a little boring?

Cmon, be honest, now.

i am the robots 12-29-2005 12:36 AM

I think the set for Lamentations is great, no flaws there, just things I could've asked for, but then again, if Opeth played my least favorite of their songs I'd be happy.

Killtacular 12-29-2005 12:50 AM

I would've felt fufilled if they played Blackwater Park and Patterns in the Ivy, along with what was there.

I barely ever watch any of the light set. It's just... I dunno. Not very exciting.

I love Damnation, though.

Deth 12-29-2005 10:36 AM

It would be better if there wasn't a 2 minute break between songs.

MidnightRider 12-29-2005 11:39 AM

What is everyone's favorite Opeth instrumental?

Mine is Requiem, it sounds so medieval.

Patterns In The Ivy is great.

No!! It's perfect!!

It's not you. I'd much rather watch fast, heavy music on a video than slow, unchallenging soft music. I'd love that set list if I were actually at that concert, but you just don't get the same feeling watching it from a couch.

ok lateralus 12-29-2005 02:31 PM

Eh, I enjoy watching both sets

UpperDecker 12-29-2005 02:43 PM

I was kinda dissappointed with Lamentations. I mean they play good songs but they play just about all of Damnation. I was really looking forward to Demon of the Fall at the end but oh well. They still played cause everyone says they play that as the encore.

denboy 12-29-2005 02:47 PM

They weren't allowed to put pre blackwater park songs on the album. Copyright issues and such

Txus 12-29-2005 02:50 PM
Eh, I enjoy watching both sets
The same here, I've seen the DVD too many times....we need a new one! :amaze:

i am the robots 12-29-2005 03:05 PM

I'd have to say either Requiem or For Absent Friends as my favorite Opeth instrumental.

Lord Abortion 12-29-2005 03:59 PM

NP-Hours of wealth...wow, is all I can say.

Thats sorta what I was saying. Well.. I didn't find it boring, but it wasn't perfect, I personally think they should have held off the release until their record company could get To Bid you Farewell, Benighted, Face of Melinda and maybe any cover songs they'd wanted to do, ie: the Soldier of Fortune cover, though they're releasing that on the Ghost Reveries SE anyways. it felt a little incomplete without those songs, is all i'd say.

Mine is probably Reqiuem, too. Although Epilogue is really great.

I have to agree. Requiem is beautiful; Uplifting.

ok lateralus 12-29-2005 06:59 PM

Yes, it is

Orchid is a masterpiece of sorts, no doubt about that

Kaiwaz 12-29-2005 07:05 PM

I'm currently working on the acousic riffs right before the outro to the song In Mist She Was Standing. It's hard to get it to sound like it does on the album. I record one track, and trying to play the other 2 tracks by ear. It's 2 guitars and bass.

Kaiwaz 12-29-2005 07:05 PM

Yeah it is.

Darkness 12-29-2005 07:08 PM

I'm currently working on Patterns in the Ivy.

Thats probably my fav Opeth instrumental, it just fits so perfectly right before Blackwater Park.

Shadius 12-29-2005 07:10 PM

Mines probably Epilogue from My Arms, Your Hearse. Though I love most of them. That album though has the best intro and outro of any Opeth album, I rekon. Shame about some of the actual tracks.

Kaiwaz 12-29-2005 07:10 PM
I'm currently working on Patterns in the Ivy.

Yes indeed. I can play some of Patterns In The Ivy II, I haven't gave it that much time though, only a few minutes.
