Well how long have the Chili Peppers been going on?

And Elton John? and Eric Clapton?
chili pepper released one hot minute, pretty garbage record. i like load, it isn;t a classic but i like the heavier bluesier bass and guitar and james actually using his voice. does ne1 kno y lars' drums sound like hes bashing trash cans with a golf club on st.anger, i just cant comprehend that.

Probably trying to get a "heavier" or different sound. I don't understand either, it's like he forgot how to tune drums.

Apparently, Bob Rock convinced him that it sounded good.

appreciate_it 02-02-2005 02:47 AM

probably. What do you think about all this **** about petitions with Bob and everyone (everyone?)
wanting him to go....???

Justice4all 02-02-2005 04:54 AM

The petitions are useless. Metallica always do things their way and even though they care about the fans, they do what they wanna do. So metallica ain't gonna care about the petition telling bob rock to leave.

ThrashMaster27 02-02-2005 05:07 AM

Yeah, Bob Rock is just a producer. At the end of it all Metallica writes and play the music, he just shouts at them and twists a few knobs. I'm aware he also played Bass on St. Anger aswell, but that's besides the point, I don't think even Les Claypool could have saved that album with Bass alone.

Lithium2112 02-02-2005 07:36 AM

anyone buy the classic rock magazine issue for january? theres like 8 pages talking about cliff's death. just finished reading it its pretty good.

what i dont understand is why they put a pic of hetfield on the cover.

acefrehleyjendell 02-02-2005 07:56 AM

Only 1 week until SKOM is out over here. I hope theres more
with Lars crying with Dave. Not because he's crying, but because
i wanna see what actually happened.

I thought I heard Lars say he purposely left the drums un-tuned to get that so-called raw garbage sound.

The only thing was that he thought the new metallica sounded good. It wasn't bad, I admit, it just was far from the metallica i grew to love

But why? It takes away the magic of the original. Most people claim to be massive Metallica fans yet they haven't heard these songs.

I WOULD love a studio version of Clover. Think about it though, the material for those songs predates Load, to have them bring it now would be seen as a sad attempt to return to what they used to be by many fans.

i wouldn't mind at all seeing an attempt to return to what they used to be. :p

Yeah, but using these songs wouldn't be right, they've been played at their concerts for years.
Yeah, but using these songs wouldn't be right, they've been played at their concerts for years.
That's very true, and as much as i like AC/DC, i hate how they've re-released old songs on new albums time and time again, and i'd hate for Metallica to follow that trend, tho it wouldn't quite be the same, but still bad enough.

JACKROXYOU 02-02-2005 06:05 PM

that would suck to see master on the new album

Joe 02-02-2005 07:18 PM
that would suck to see master on the new album
I think this new album should be all new songs and the album after that needs to be greatest hits 1981-1991 then the one after greatest hits 1991-200? (?=whenever next album comes out)

FlyingPaul_83 02-02-2005 07:27 PM

Metallica needs to come out with another ride the lightning type album. IMO that is thier best album

New recordings or first recordings?

Joe 02-02-2005 07:33 PM
New recordings or first recordings?
Original. If you want new recordings of all their old stuff go buy one of their concerts

Eitri Is Berserk 02-02-2005 07:35 PM

It'd be a good idea, but if they did it.. I wonder if they would choose their true great hits.. Or just the most well known.. Some of the best songs (RTL, Harvester of Sorrow) arn't their best known songs.

willis2441 02-02-2005 07:36 PM

metallica will never be as popular as they used to, i dont think they can play as good as they used to.

Freezing Moon 02-02-2005 08:39 PM
well im thinking about the majority of the people. i like orion better too
I used to like Orion better, until I had to play it for some school project. We never finished because the person I was playing with sucked, and didn't learn half the song. The result was that I over-played it and got tired of it.

MoX_KIll 02-02-2005 08:42 PM

i listen the Orion just to hear the solo at the end....for some reason i really like it

oooh, i think Call of Ktulu is so much easier to learn. it repeats riffs constantly for 9 mins, but it kicks ***

Orion i think is just cooler. it's not as repetitive. i haven't decided which solos i like better

MoX_KIll 02-02-2005 08:46 PM
