He has my blessing, though, for what that's worth. Apparently they're both equality fanatical about God so they'll have a jolly good time reading the Bible and praying together.

Under "About me" on FB he has this:
"I love God. I always take his way in my life."

I can see all his shit on FB even though I haven't added him. I don't really want to or else I can't post any music on FB anymore without my entire family thinking I worship Satan.

My family has known I'm an atheist for years now. They're only passively Christian and my mom is the only one who doesn't like me saying stuff about religion, but that is pretty rare.

Yeah, most Christians I know are like that. Just benevolent and tolerant people. My family on my mother's side is ridiculously passionate about it, though. Everything is about Catholicism with them. My mother went through hell when she "came out" as an atheist.

I'm not going to say it is a bad thing to be passionate about your faith system, but I'd just rather not be a part of it. I've always felt positively (in some ways) towards the [I][B]concept[/B][/I] of religion, though.

Saw a bunch of people outside the student center with a huge board saying and screaming "we hate religion because..." and having people sign it.

Was going to say you're the chucklefucks who make atheists look bad and are just as bad as the religious people you apparently hate

Definitely. Gives people something to live for, which is a much more weighty matter than most atheists want to acknowledge. Being passionate about your beliefs doesn't have to be bad unless you force them onto other people. If that's part of your beliefs, we have a problem. Most Christians aren't really like that, thankfully.

It's been a long time since I haven't believed and my parents still probably think I'm at least kinda religious, it's one of those topics I've never brought up because both of them are pretty devout Protestants, they've never even taken well to small obvious questions I had when I was younger so I don't really know how I'd approach it.

I think a lot of things to say if my parents find out about stuff I do that they won't approve of (unlikely since they live in a different part of the state) but who knows how good that kind of logic will be, I haven't been 'in trouble' for years.
