lol my brother passed out and he got lipstick drawn all over his face and he couldn't get it out of his beard... we had our yearly family christmas gathering the next day. all the pictures of him look hilarious.

Well, it mostly reflects the swing in Australian attitudes over the past 100 years. Originally, the Liberal party were liberal, as they represented the richer "white-collar" class of workers, whilst the Labour party were conservative as they represented the poorer "blue-collar" class. However, as time as gone on, the poorer classes have become more left-wing, through unions and cultural phenomenon like the hippy movement. Likewise, the Liberal party hasn't really swung either way, they just hold on to outdated notions like any good conservative does.

Unfortunately, the Labour party is just as bloody minded, so who knows how I'll vote in 5 weeks time.

Same thing happened in the US when Nixon was elected. Its considered the Party Realignment.
