I've got an idea for a thread, perhaps a coming regular thread of mine. I want to share some good music that I've found but probably won't be known by too many of the members here. I want to make a file containing around 10 selected songs as a compilation of this music ready for others to download as long as it's available on a file sharing site. For my first and perhaps only one I want to include:

Beherit
Belketre
Bolt Thrower
Graveland
Ildjarn
Judas Iscariot
Krieg
Massacra
Necrophobic
Nuclear Death
Samael
Summoning

Hell, if possible others could provide their own little compilation package for a big thread! Anyway, is this idea legal, and would you recommend it?

You mean like a mix tape thread? Should be fine as long as you don't post any links to downloads on the actual forums.

That sounds like an excellent idea. Thats much better than hearing about a band and then downloading a whole album off the Daily Upload and not liking it.

A question, actually, in case any of you happen to know the answer:

I have the 'show my reputation level' option disbaled but as far as I can see it still shows my reputation? Is this a common thing or just a bug that needs working out?

Perhaps someone could help me with this problem I have now that the attention is here. I've made my compilation, but I'm having trouble uploading the files in one go, since I will be uploading an entire folder, which won't work, so I'd have to upload song by song. How can this be overcome so that it is just one file I can link to to download them all? Thank you.

Use Winzip on Winrar to compress the folder into a single file which you can then upload.

have you looked back in Options to check that it's actually disabled? Because I had my reputation showing enabled, but when the server came back it had been disabled and I didn't change anything.

If any Mod feels this is a good idea and there should be more, perhaps this should be stickied, and somebody with a knowledge of another metal sub-genre should do another one (for instance death metal).

Not really. Violating rules is violating rules.

My only point for mods is. Step up and be consistant.

And what I'm trying to point out is that some rules have acceptions, and some rules should constitute warnings, not bans.
