Yes, but the original intention of the Pit was to be a kind of rest area for the people who use the music forums. It was never supposed to have a reason for existing on it's own, and that's why it's now bad; it's almost entirely perishable and vacuous.

Yes, the pit for the most part doesn't even have any musicians in there. They are people that are spam whores that talk about nothing all day long and join just for that purpose...

Personally I find it a waste of space, since you know this is a musicians forum, and well over 75% of those people in the pit are not musicians. Nor do you ever see them out side of the pit...

So with these things stated, why is the pit still around?

There was a thread in the Pit about this not too long ago, about how SFK had suggested that mx get rid of the Pit. The main argument against it was that all the Pit-dwellers would gravitate into other forums and infect them, making them into new Pits. For that reason I say the Pit should be kept around. R&M is bad enough without them spamming it up.

Well see, other forums have rules about this kind of stuff. And after awhile they would all be perma banned and such, since you know, the other mods are not as soft as the pit mods are.

And seriously, this is a musicians site, not a "omgz spamz site, lolz" like the pit is...

I think it was a good idea. Of course it would have been bad at first, but things would have gotten much better later.

The pit used to be cool until the mods made is so that we weren't allowed to flame stupid people and so all of the idiots stayed.

I almost never post in the pit. Everytime I go in, its just a bunch of idiotic threads. Really, I pretty much just post in here and the cd review forum. I don't know why I haven't posted in the guitar forum for a long time.

You can discuss reggae in the other music forum. reggae isn't popular enough to have its own forum, although I do like Bob marley.

Death To Smoochy is my favourite out of the three, definitely.
