Really Red - Teaching You the Fear
Bread and Roses - s/t
The Dicks - Kill from the Heart
Good Clean Fun - Straight Outta Hardcore
Crucifu'cks - Our Will Be Done

Yeah so i've been revisiting my old hardcore obsession. And Bread and Roses, which is some sweet folk punk.
I approve of everything there. The Dicks are brilliant. One of my top 10 80s hardcore bands. Bread and Roses are fantastic and that album is great (especially Bedtime for Plutocracy). GCF are sweet. I'm seeing them in less than 12 hours. Really Red are another great 80s hardcore band. The Crucif'ucks have the best band name in the history of ever and also make good music. The Saviour is my favourite song on that album.

I Was A Kaleidoscope 01-29-2006 12:40 AM

Interpol - Antics
Telefon Tel Aviv - Fahrenheit Fair Enough

asdf 01-29-2006 10:12 AM

Recently I've been listening to stuff like Estradasphere, Luminescent Orchestrii, Mischief Brew, Gogol Bordello...

I made a list of a bit over 100 bands that I really like. I'm now going to go through that list and listen to one CD from each band. Some of them that I put on the list I really haven't listened to in quite awhile, so now it's time to refresh my memory of why I like it so much.

Right now I'm listening to aphex twin - Richard D James Album. I don't think I've ever listened to aphex twin as just a solid album, or if I did I wasn't really paying attention. I'm really enjoying it, though.

Butthole Surfers - Locust Abortion Technician

Seriously, this is possibly the most insane, and crazy album that I have ever heard.

Bob Log III - Trike
Spoon - Gimme Fiction
Calexico - A Feast Of Wire
Quasimoto - The Unseen
Annie - Anniemal
Sun Kil Moon - Ghosts of the Great Highway

A combination of wacky and serious stuff. Calexico is in heavy rotation, these days. Such a marvelous band.

OrbDragon 01-29-2006 01:17 PM

Oh yeah, and Timesbold - Eye Eye too.

I've been listening to bands like that too much recently, so I'm trying to get away from that. Over the next couple weeks I'm going to listen to over 100 different CD's by bands I allready like. It's going to be fun.

This is their best album, it truly is. Can't wait to see them, it'll be crraazzzyyy.

Division of Laura Lee

Pulled out everything I had of theirs (3 albums) yesterday and I've made it through all of them, with Das Not Compute being played twice. Such a good, no nonsense band.

Zappa 01-29-2006 06:00 PM

Jah Division - Dub Will Tear Us Apart

I've also been on a Ghost Mice kick lately. Such good music, but such a huge chunk is so depressing.

rbv 01-29-2006 08:39 PM

Infected Mushroom
and Lightning Bolt

Two bands that make repetiveness sound really really good.

Little Man being Erased 01-29-2006 09:06 PM

All Things Bright and Beautiful - Love and Affection

One of the most honest and depressing albums I've heard in a while. According to his myspace page, he sounds like:

the smiths, low, flannery o'connor, the beautiful south, the housemartins, j.d. salinger, blonde redhead, depeche mode, belle and sebastian

This is a stunning album, I reccomend everyone check it out. I'm about to listen to Moon Safari now. I'm on a quest to put all of my cds onto my computer.
a touch of Baby Huey (props to Bartender)
Hope you like him.

I've been listening to all kinds of different stuff lately. Noticeably, been listening to Air - Talkie Walkie; the first four tracks are great, but the rest seems a little disappointing. I've listened to the first four a lot more than the rest so far though, so maybe it's just that. Other than that, the main thing I can think of is rediscovering how much I like The Shape Of Punk To Come and North - North.

pixiesfanyo 01-30-2006 08:30 AM
North - North.
heh, i saw them perform in early january. their new material is horrible, and the singer smoked his voice away. it's tragic really.

Bartender 01-30-2006 09:07 AM

That is a shame. Still, it's not like I would have been seeing them live any time soon. At least I have this album.

OrbDragon 01-30-2006 12:16 PM

Thomas Dybdahl - That Great October Sound

Such an amazing album. Amazing voice.

"Life Here Is Gold" is beautiful.
