I dont know why, I just hate Orion. It's annoying.
well I got garage inc cause... well think about it. 300 pages, 27 songs. sorry Sliptallica :upset:
hope i wont regret it though
also, I do already know Mop anyway (thanks to Mxtabs)
Also the problem with Orion is(if the rumers are true) that they played that of Burton's funeral is really improper.
While I can respect you not liking Orion, I really do think you should consider getting Master Of Puppets as well. And anyway, Garage Inc is all cover songs, so it'd be better to learn the originals as well.
I have a serious question I have to ask you guys (or ladies),

Of course, the cd Master of Puppets is better than the cd Garage, Inc.,
but my mother said she was going to get Metallica Steet Music. The choice is either Master of Puppets or Garage, Inc.
Here's the list:

Master of Puppets
songs
1 is good
2 is awsome
3 is good
4 is good
5 is good
dislike 6
 I hate Orion!
8 is alright

If I'm getting only 5 songs out of MoP, then my mom brings a point. I dont like Garage Incorperated compared to Master of Puppets, but I should get Garage Inc. cause there are 27 songs and over 300 pages of sheet music. She says "It builds strength to pratice 27 songs". This is why I came to you.

What should I get?
Master of Puppets Is better but only 5 songs of enjoyment ans is only 68 pages. Or Garage inc., not as good, but has 27 songs to pratice.(Builds fingerwork stamnia) and some songs are fun on it too.
I need an answer about within 1 and 1/2 hours cause that's when we leave to get the books.
Also, please dont be biased. Try and think BOTH sides of the debate.
hmmm.. i dunno why you hate orion. It's good too.

Oh well if you got Garage thats cool too. you will get to learn metallica's take on classics.

as for orian at Cliff's funeral (god rest his soul) it could happen, but i dont think they felt like playing any of thier songs right then.

They played Orion at Cliff's funeral because it was written intirely by him, it was a show of honour to him. They just put it on a cd player in the background, where they all picked up his ashes, said something of memory to him, and put them onto his grave.

I've seen them live on the Madly in Anger With the World Tour in San Antonio, Tx. That Show F***in kicked *** Godsmack wasn't Bad *** too. But I'd say Metallica ruled that night everyone in the arena stood up through out the whole concert. The piro was awsome and they played nothing but there old hits except for one song from the St. Anger cd.

:amaze: BUDDY! YOU'RE MISSING OUT holy cow, go check it out. its a .mov (most of the files anyways) file and its called "Cliff Burton Bass Solo" jesus christ man, thats a WICKED solo, and i want to learn how to play it. If you can't find it, I can try sending it to you, its proof why Burton was the grand-daddy of bass guitar.

btoto 11-26-2004 10:38 AM

To Live Is To Die

I have been listening to this alot recently as a bit of a change of pace.

Just wondered what you guys think of this song... tis amazing eh?

TLITD fact 1): Its the hardest Metallica song for James to play

TLITD fact 2): Cliff wrote the only lyrics in that song...last song he worked on before he died...kinda ironic.

rammakin 11-26-2004 07:35 PM

That's kind of weird.

For me - "Battery" is the hardest to play....I can play TLITD....I just quit after a little while because that's a LOOOOONG song. That may be why it's the hardest for Het to play

SanitariuMel 11-26-2004 08:40 PM

TLITD is one of my favorites, it is a very awesome song. It's long but some parts are great fun to play.

Chu 11-26-2004 09:11 PM

1. Fade To Black
2. Orion
3. Call of The Ktulu
4. Sanitarium
5. For Whom The Bells Toll

But seriusly, I love Ride The Lightning, Master of Puppets and Kill 'em All CDs :)

1. Sabbra Cadabra....

Chu 11-26-2004 09:13 PM

I'd be really interested in watching that actually....

Ktulu19 11-26-2004 09:20 PM

Oh yes! To Live Is To Die is AND always will be one of my favourite pieces of music ever! The piece is just AMAZING! Its unbelievable how a song can get the message to you without lyrics. (besides the ones that Cliff wrote but they do not have very much to do with the song) The song is just so beautiful and sad that I can't believe how anyone would not like this.

Oh yea, what do the lyrics exactly mean? You know...

"When a man lies...
He murders a part of the world
These are the pale deaths which men miscall their lives
All this I cannot bear to witness any longer
Cannot the kingdom of salvation
Take me Home..."

I know them on memorey and I have wondered what they mean so many times! If someone can explain them to me then please do so.

SanitariuMel 11-26-2004 09:41 PM

I guess Burton is expressing how much this world makes him angry and that there is a better place out there, like heaven.

guitarcreep13 11-27-2004 12:49 AM

Sorry that i'm late, I got Master Of Puppets anyway. (So I have both now but my mom stole it and isn't giving it back 'till christmas!)
D*MN IT!!!!
(I dont know why, but the net wont let me write the word d*mn all the way)

Here's my list in order:
(David Letterman Style)
5.) Until it Sleeps
4.) One
3.) Enter Sandman
2.) Master of Puppets
1.) The Unforgiven

A cover song: Sabbra Cadabra

Btoto likes The Unforgiven II?
not many people like that, they say its a crappy remake of the unforgiven
(This isn't an insut. I'm just saying.)
I used to like it, until I got The Unforgiven Single.
It has: The Unforgiven, Killing Time, and The Unforgiven (demo).
You know The Unforgiven's acoustic was actually once an electric gtr.

anyway this leads to the new topic.

Who has any metallica singles?
