August 16th, that sounds a little too soon for their album to come out. I mean, it could happen(and I really REALLY wish it would happen), but it seems like there really hasen't been enough news on the album for it to be released so soon.
Teleincision.
It sounds mental. It could be the title.
It is always Tool though. They probably would like to release it more unexpectaly.
Hopefully not, google it up. Tell us what you find out... :)
Well, Elephtheria is Greek for "freedom"...
More to come.

EDIT:
Solved. Elephtheria was supposedly written on a piece of the alien ship that crashed in Roswell, NM in 1947. This goes along with the fact that in the newsletter, Blair and co. were attempting to visit Area 51. Nothing to do with the new album, at least I don't think so.

It's a DVD, which means that it'll just have their videos and probably some extra stuff they did. It's not their new album. It'll be like Salival if I'm gathering this correctly.

BlindWriting 06-13-2005 05:27 PM

If you think about it, Teleincision is the more fitting name for their live/video DVD. You know. Tele.

Mr Herb 06-13-2005 06:09 PM

Right. Tele? television? works like that or something. And all of their past studio albums have had one word titles. This one is erm 2 perhaps? dunno

Lateralias 06-13-2005 08:25 PM
I have probably the best live tool ever seen :)

I can't get that soundclick to mp3 because the mp3 link isn't on there.

I'm talking about 46&2. How do I get it on my computer? I'm really dumb right now but I don't know how to get an mp3 version of it. It's all stream. I don't know how I'd be able to record the thing.

Mr Herb 06-13-2005 08:38 PM

Well, Tool is very hard to play on bass for any song. I would suggest maybe Sweat from Opiate or Sober from Undertow. Those were the first songs i learned when i was trying to play Tool on bass.

I'd say sober, Hooker with a *****, or stinkfist. Check out the bass guitar forum here, plenty of Tool fans that can help you out there.

Edit:
I like how they censor penis but not hooker

Mr Herb 06-13-2005 10:31 PM

and wich would you consider their hardest on bass?

Friik 06-13-2005 10:46 PM
and wich would you consider their hardest on bass?
The Grudge
Schism
Disposition
Reflection
Ænima
Intolerance (well...the tabs i've seen have some pretty wierd harmonics, but thats about it)

:giganticsize7lightbulb:

Hmm, this could be why Tool put Faiip de Oaid at the END of Lateralus. To be sort of a bridge from one album to the next. Kind of ties in with the Roswell deal...Meh

Actually, that also kind of reminds me of how they put Third Eye at the end of Aenima.

Aenima was a pretty fucking angry album, and third eye bridged the gap towards their Lateralus-era spirituality.

You could be on to something, but like I said, it may just coincide more with the topic of the newsletter.

Time will tell.

"Be paaaatient!"
and wich would you consider their hardest on bass?
the version of Ænima off tooltabs.net
There are others, I just can't think right now
