Eliminator 01-25-2007 06:29 PM

i would because i'm so cool

Surtr 01-25-2007 07:06 PM

Well the point is that Mark and Travis got us all into (+44) when we probably wouldn't normally have.

But if I somehow caught a drift of the band with it having complete nobody's in it, I'd deffinatly listen to it and like it.

Gummo 01-25-2007 11:00 PM

hahah blink 182 used to be my favourite band!

lunchforthesky 01-26-2007 03:34 AM
Um yeh pretty much. I wouldnt give plus 44 a second listen without Mark or Trav. Im sure alot of people on hear could relate to this. Dont get me wrong there not bad i enjoy them. But they deffintly arent awsome and wouldnt get attention without mark or travis.
One of the lamest things anyones said here in a while.

bottlerocket 01-26-2007 07:41 AM

I like Mark and Travis as people and celebrities but if (+44) sucked, I wouldn't listen. I like (+44)'s music a lot. Sure, the initial reason I was drawn and interested in the band was because Mark and Travis were in it and that was a big part of why I gave them a listen in the first place, but I genuinely enjoy the music.

I agree.

I also don't really understand why people would listen to a band, just because of the people that are in the band. And meanwhile they think that the music sucks. :)

lunchforthesky 01-26-2007 03:13 PM

Hence why i almost never listen to Plus 44.

Gummo 01-26-2007 11:27 PM

i saw ava in concert.
after i left i thought it was kind of lame.

blink will always be the best

Couldn't agree more.

(+44) are a damn fine band that, if I'd discovered on myspace or something, I'd listen to them, even if I'd never heard of Mark or Travis.

RosettaStoned 02-01-2007 06:29 AM

I disagree, I never really found +44 that interesting for some reason.

I only ever really liked Blink's older stuff as apposed to their later stuff.

Surtr 02-04-2007 11:18 AM

Please understand, This isn't just good bye, This is I can't stand you..

2muchket! 02-04-2007 01:58 PM

Got +44's album yesterday. Really like it especially the acoustic songs, like the Weatherman acoustic works better than the actual song. 155 is good too.

Grohlthegreat 02-04-2007 02:49 PM

i really dont like the acoustic songs.

anyway, online songs is the best blink.

Eskedi 02-04-2007 04:32 PM

I love that song

Virus278 02-04-2007 05:34 PM

Me too...I didn't know there was a weatherman acoustic. I bet it sounds awesome.

Definetly not the best, but none-the-less a damn good song.

Please don't remind me,
Put your past behind me,
It shines so bright it blinds me,
I wish that this would end...
And I am not fine,
Last night I saw you online,
Your screen name needs to be mine,
Why can't we just pretend...?

TOYPAJ is a very underrated album on the whole. Whenever I think of my favorite Blink album, I never think of it, but then I listen to it and think "dang these are good tunes."

I havent listened to it in so long. I was trying to think how the tune went while I was reading the lyrics you posted, and I couldnt remember.

I need to find that CD and listen to it, damn.

Hm my favorite Blink album would be Enema and The Mark, Tom and Travis Show :thumb:

this.

MENTAL YO 02-06-2007 09:39 PM

Blink 182 are one of the most fun bands to put on your headphones and play along to. I do it all the time when I'm frustrated with trying to finish writing my own material and such

Wow, great post - exactly the same with me. That album brings back so many freakin' memories. It's great.

EDIT: I tried to +rep u but apparantly I already have recently cause it wouldn't let me do it.

EDIT2: It's really really wierd that u said that because before I even came onto the forums I was listening to TOYPAJ which makes today was the first day in about a year that I've listened to a blink-182 album all the way through. (I was listening to another band on itunes and when their music finished it started playing this album so i just listened to it all the way through)

MattSharpIsCool 02-06-2007 11:28 PM

The last Blink album I listened to completely was Dude Ranch, but that's been a couple months, at least.

Virus278 02-07-2007 12:12 AM

Oh ya, that just reminded me. I listened to Dude Ranch all the way through in December...well technically. I was listening to it in bed and I fell asleep half way thru lol. Anyway, before that it had been ages since I had last listened to a Blink album all the way thru...or even listened to more than one Blink song in a row.

poo-poo-pee-pee 02-07-2007 12:57 AM

The last blink album I listened to cover to cover... Or front of CD to back of CD? was Untitled, about 2 hours ago, then before that Take Off You Pants and Jacket yesterday, as well as Enema. Then Buhhda the day before that.
I tend to listen to alot of blink, usually daily.

Ross 02-07-2007 05:44 AM

Hmm. Think I listened to Enema a few weeks back.

I'm way too busy listening to Capdown and Sonic Boom Six tbh

bottlerocket 02-07-2007 08:40 AM

I was walking to class the other day, listening to TOYPAJ on my iPod and it made the walk a lot better. Such an underrated album.

i don't know lol 02-08-2007 07:18 AM

Wow good band threads all over these forums. Its amazing. I may never stop posting. I LOVE this band. So good I could almost cry.

lunchforthesky 02-08-2007 07:21 AM

Am I the only pop punk regular who doesnt care about Blink anymore?

i don't know lol 02-08-2007 07:34 AM

How could you not care about them? They're a good band and still in progress. I think they're super :)

lunchforthesky 02-08-2007 07:40 AM

Because i've realised that although they are catchy the instramentation is laughable and that lyrically they are one of the most infantile bands ive ever listened to. I know that is missing the point of Blink but i no longer find them a "fun" band to listen to.

i don't know lol 02-08-2007 07:44 AM

Well I guess thats the way it goes with bands sometimes. I got sick of Fall Out Boy but this new album has brought me back in big time.

lunchforthesky 02-08-2007 07:50 AM

Blink stopped being my favourite band after Enema of the State and have never recovered. New Fall Out Boy is okay but worse than From Under the Cork Tree and a lot worse than Take This To Your Grave, which is a pop punk classic.

bottlerocket 02-08-2007 11:50 AM

lol @ last sentence

Basically dead on, the whole "missing the point of blink." They're just a fun, goofy band but I guess some people can't appreciate it forever.

Enema >>>>>>>>>>>>> TTTYG

Let's be honest, now.

lunchforthesky 02-08-2007 12:21 PM

That basically it they no longer have the same effect on me they used to. I cant appreciate their goofyness anymore and all i can hear is grown men acting like little kids.

TTTYG is probably on a par with Enema in terms of music althuogh Enema wins hands down for its influence on the scene.

MattSharpIsCool 02-08-2007 07:53 PM

I dont think Blink is all that bad lyrically. Of course songs like Family Reunion or the Grandpa song arent all that poetic, but when Blink actually tried to write songs, they did a fairly good job, I think.

I'm not just talking about their untitled either. Carousel is old school and even then they were able to write a decent tune. They're not "deep" and "introspective" or whatever, but they're not awful, either.

Defiitely not "infantile" as you put it, unless, like I said, you're only listening to their fuck around songs.

Surtr 02-08-2007 08:00 PM

So..I MIGHT get to see (+44) in May..With FOB though...

It's up in the air and probably not going to happen at the moment though.

Virus278 02-08-2007 08:23 PM

omg, lunchforthesky got banned. Anyone know how it happened?

poo-poo-pee-pee 02-09-2007 02:20 AM

Anyone who doesn't love blink is banned. Didn't you know that?
