I've heard 3 NIN songs, 1 was March of the Pigs which i hated, one was Hurt which was alright, the new one is absolutely immense, i'm addicted to it

Spaceman Spiff 04-21-2005 02:15 PM

And for good death metal, if you don't listen to these bands, both from Sweden I believe (real shocker  :D), check out:
Mors Principium Est
Darkane

BassVirtuoso 04-21-2005 02:17 PM
Have you heard the new Dark Tranquillity album? They haven't gone in the direction of all the others.

And there were some good songs on In Flames' Reroute To Remain, but overall I didn't like it.
Dark Tranquility reminds me a lot of old In Flames with a hint of prog. Pretty good stuff.

You hate March Of The Pigs?!?!?!

NIN is one of my favorite bands. :thumb:

Radiobass81 04-21-2005 02:17 PM

I dislike most metal...

neal_672 04-21-2005 02:19 PM

March of the Pigs is ruined by the vocals IMO. Recommend me some stuff like the 2 songs i said i liked :thumb: is the new album all like Hand That Feeds?

Radiobass81 04-21-2005 02:19 PM

March of the Pigs rules.

Best part is where the most of instruments stop, and we are left with piano and Reznor's voice, saying "Doesn't it make you feel better? Ah..."

Anders Friden from In Flames used to sing for Dark Tranquillity, Mikael Stanne from Dark Tranquillity used to sing for In Flames.

Either way, DT was around before In Flames for several years.

I don't really have a point, just that it's interesting.

I don't really know what to say about the new album.

Songs for you to check out though (older one):
The Day The World Went Away
The Great Below

Crap, I don't know, a bunch of the stuff from their album The Fragile is sort of softer, I guess.

neal_672 04-21-2005 02:26 PM

Put it this way: is the new album overly screamy? Because i'm not too much of a fan of screaming...
