I don't know I've talked about it with her, the thing is I don't have a car and she lives in a kind of dead town, so that leaves me stuck at the house or relying on a really lame bus system to get around. I don't have many friends around where she lives and the bus takes forever to get you anywhere. I like the city too much. Im starting to get a strong friend base here and leaving that would hurt me more in the long run. plus I'm probably going to be in my friends band and I really wanna play shows n shit.

*If* moving back in with her is not an option, look for cheaper housing, and only if it is not in a worse part of the neighborhood, or look for someone that may go for being a roommate at a cheaper place.



Also if at all possible look for a bike. Doesn't matter what it is just look for one.

If you're in as dire straits as you are now, though, you may need to give up some of the luxuries like playing in your friend's band. It may be fun, but if you can't afford anything, that's time being wasted on a possible second job. Listen to Ron here. If things turn around somewhat and you have the spare time to do your band thing, by all means do it, but stuff like that can wait.

she thinks I should move back. I'm on a year lease and am living with 2 friends and am not going to fuck them over. I'm here till next July, so there's no point in considering any moves till then.

Because really, getting a year lease when you can't afford it isn't smart, especially if you just recently signed/extended it when you had the option to move back home. Finding a replacement will be the best thing with that.

And I think you'd realize that playing music, unless it's your income source, is an activity you can forego.

Don't fuck them over then. You'll just have to endure what you're going through right now until your lease is up.

From where I am standing, you're depriving yourself of your mother and someone that can help improve your emotional state. It may sound cheesy but a guy in your situation needs someone close to them and a mother that is close to her son is a very good thing to have around. Many kids don't even have moms. Keep that in mind too.


In the meantime, again, look for a better job.

Well, one of your biggest complaints is how you're completely broke and living on 200 bucks a week. Putting probably what 30-50% of that toward rent, not to mention FICA taxes isn't leaving you much at all. If you get some money, you can always get back into the city with your friends and feel a lot better about your situation.

I'm not saying money buys happiness, but you need it sometimes.
